I’m contemplating by the end of this year or the beginning of next year to trade in my FSCTB for another Beast. Most likely I will trade in with Tesla. I did a fair amount of modifications to my CTB. For example, wrap, running board, changed out the wheels and tires, and added the swivel screen. Does anyone know if Tesla will take in the trade that way without converting it back to way it was?

I believe they will take it, however they will not give extra for your mods. They will price it as if wasn’t there.

In my case removing the wrap added almost $2k to the trade in and took less than an hour.
my advice is to ask them after they give you a price what it would be if it was back to bone stock and then figure out whether the difference is worth your time.

Why would you trade in for the same vehicle? Curious. Seems like more downside.

First, as I have mentioned it’s probably the best vehicle I have owned. Second, I’m approaching close to end of the warranty. A time I usually trade in my vehicles. Lastly, I figured by now Tesla has worked out all of the faults the CyberTruck have. Also, maybe a new version might come out by 2027.

If I were a betting man, my bet would be that CT does not get a significant update for quite a few more years. You’ll benefit from newer tollerances that they’ve solved over the last couple of years. Tesla will give you more to remove mods for stock vehicle. I’ve traded a vehicle with a screen swivels, but it would be wise to put your old mantle/cyberwheel back on for trade in process.

Oh I agree Tesla won’t do a significant upgrade for 2027. Maybe 2028. However, that’s really not one of the factors of me trading it. We all know, Tesla doesn’t do significant changes to their designs for a long time. When the time comes I will revert my screen back to the way it was and take off the wrap. However, the last time I took off my wrap a lot of adhesive stayed behind. I had to use a lot of elbow grease to get if off.

I hope that your removal job is smoother than mine was lmfao. I got quoted $80/hr for removal and thought I would be slick and do it myself before getting it rewrapped.

Wrong choice in hindsight. 😂

I do not know whether there is any incentive I would take that would involve giving up FSD on my Cybertruck that I would consider. You must never use FSD, but that, if true, is a big surprise. I may have quips with FSD lane selection and speed, but it is still wonderful.
