Those repair estimates are ridiculously low. A Toyota Rav4 with visible damage limited to one quarter panel damaged could be more than $7500! Body shops have raised their rates tremendously after covid. I'm not sure what's going on but wait times have gone way up and prices have skyrocketed. Also, there is usually more damage than immediately apparent in such an accident, and many body shops are not that reputable, if they can say a part is questionable, they will replace it (which might require additional extensive disassembly).Currently, the frunk facia and fender panels the tape is stuck too I hope to be replaced. The front fender at point of impact looks scratched at edge and is pushed back into fender guard and under windshield/window frame. Honestly, I want everything replaced considering it only has 900 miles. If it has a scratch, I want it new. A buddy of mine who represented Allstate for decades say's $7500. I say $5000. Wheel, tire and suspension don't appear to have been damaged. Inside wheel well plastic at edge is damaged and I want it replaced. It is going to be another adventure in CyberTruck ownership and the Tesla experience.
I'm glad you came out unscathed. One thing I would caution all Tesla drivers is to be hyper-aware whenever accelerating (or turning sharply) because other drivers see an empty space in traffic and don't expect anyone to fill it so quickly. Of course, it's still the other driver's fault if you have the right-of-way, but that is small consolation so it's something to be aware of if you want to keep your car in undamaged condition.
When we took delivery of our first Model 3 after waiting 3 years on the reservation list, I was hyper alert because I knew the car was not replaceable in any reasonable timeframe, given the imbalance between supply and demand early in the production ramp. The Cybertruck is in the same situation right now. Fortunately, it's quicker to repair than it is to replace a totaled Cybertruck!
