Hi All,

I am new to the forum and picked up my Cybertruck at the end of August.

Has anyone experienced a truck bed leak from the Tonneau cover in the center of the truck bed?

Attached are some photos.

I took it to the Tesla Service Center in White Plains, NY, and they said no fix.

I believe that's where you will see water intrusion, is in the back where it rolls down. Otherwise, I honestly haven't seen water in the bed, even through car wash, unless I open the tonneau. See how it looks before operating the tonneau, it looks like you rolled it back a little which is probably where the water is coming from.

Good luck!

I hate to say it… but as an owner of 3 ICE trucks with tonneau covers with 2 of them also having electric tonneau covers like the CT, they do leak. I have never owned one that doesn’t. For the most part they keep water out, but generally with a heavy car wash or rain, I do get some water intrusion. Even after a big snow and melt off, I get a little water inside. They really are not meant to be water proof. I just wanted to set the “truck” expectation.

I had two leaks near the centerline of the tonneau cover. I took off the flat aluminum trim panel at the forward edge of the roll-top and noticed the foam strip had two gaps in it about 1/8" to 1/4" wide. I plucked some of the foam strip off from each edge that was surplus and pressed one of each of them into each gap and re-installed the aluminum trip panel (it compresses the foam strip). After that, no more leaks.

It took about 15-20 minutes and required no supplies (other than a torx bit wrench if I recall).
