Took my Cybertruck off-roading and ended up with some nasty scratches on the side mirrors from bush encounters:cry:

Update:

I'm glad to say I managed to get rid of the scratches on the side mirrors using a plastic scratch removal kit. You can still see some marks if you look closely, but overall, it looks pretty good.

Here's what it looks like now.

The least expensive solution would be to wrap them in vinyl. DIY of course

REALLY?

I use the car wash all the time on our X and dont even see any signs of marking at all. I toughed the brush at ours and bought a membership. The brushes are not brushes at all but sort of like a scuba suit cloth with foam. VERY light weight and VERY soft. They break off easily if they get pinched.

My concern is the high pressure. One video I saw showed wiper fluid draining down the windshield through the seal (if you want to call it that) at the base of the windshield and the top driver side of the Frunk. Look at it. The wiper motor is connected there. Where does that water go? NOT into the Frunk but down behind the Frunk shell and into the area where ALL the electronics are!! One owner bricked his by using the car wash. Now ... I am afraid to even wash it or leave it in the rain!

What do you think? Look a that and pretend you are high pressure water and you hit that area ... where are you going?

Bushes not brushes. I have no scratches on mine from brushes at car wash, and I tend not to drive through the bushes. No touches is my saying during off roading.

Off road is off road. One gets all the gifts that comes with it. Don't care for it? Head on back to road.

My eyes are tired ... driving without FSD does that!

But, if you have taken your through a car wash ... what kind? Did you notice any water in the Frunk?

This is not true.

The owner went to a car wash and the truck got stuck there when it got wet, right? Well, no.
He drove it out of the wash, and it died in the parking lot, right? Hmmm, no.
The truck drove all the way home without issue, was parked in the garage, and found to be dead hours later.

Must be the car wash, rite?? ?

So you have done a car wash and no issues? I looked at the way it is done between the windshield and frunk and frankly, I don't see how it can't leak. The gasket that runs all the way across the truck, except right at the wiper motor. And the plate around the wiper motor is very flexible too.

I've taken it through an automatic car was multiple times without issue. I've also sprayed it with a hose in that area.

If the seal in that area is incomplete, it should be repaired. I don't know the water-resistance of the components under the frunk tub, but I imagine they can get wet from time to time, since that's not really a sealed compartment.
