VIN?
Hoping to get lucky with a trouble free truck.
Picking mine up in 4 days low 90XX vin.
Tesla said it was born 4/23
My VIN is almost 8900 (April 22 build) and is in service from "Critical issues detected". Seems there are many different issues with CT still occurring with newer VINs. I wouldn't suggest taking one on long road trips at this point in time.

I don't know what everyone else's experience is but I picked mine up in Texas and I drove to colorado, so at this point I have about 1,500 miles on it. I think that's a reasonable amount of miles having done a road trip with it right after picking up and there have been no issues so I don't expect something to crop up suddenly now as opposed to if I just had 20 miles and then it kind of just starts breaking.

Last four digits are 9010.
Wow,
Ours were built very close together.
Less than 100 apart
Possibly the same day
Hopefully that’s a good sign
Did you find out the day your truck was born?
They do have that information if you call Tesla I’m a little skeptical that they told me it was April 23 because it seems like it’s kind of a low number to be that recent. But not impossible.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if April 23rd was when they built yours and my trucks because I ordered mine on April 22nd, and then they assigned me the VIN on April 25th so it's kind of like very close together but I feel like they were rushing to get some deliveries done in April or at least register the sales in april.

Were you signed up for the long-term stockholders early delivery program?
I was and I’m wondering if it moved me up in line
My order was configured March 12

Yes but I didn't have enough shares so they said no however I wrote them an email asking if they would reconsider and then they never replied to me but I got an invitation to order.

Mine made it to ~520 miles before the critical issues popped up and the truck wouldn’t drive. I’m glad I was local when it happened.

New to the site and not typically a poster but I think I just need to vent. I have had the car for 6 days and 4 of those days in the shop. Like most of you I have been waiting for 4 years and finally received my truck on May 10, 2024 here in Franklin, TN. The process of picking up a $100k truck was a bizarre experience in itself. Walking up to a counter and signing some documents and being told the parking spot it’s located in was strange. It was like picking up a Hertz rental car. Not even a thank you or congrats.
First issue I had was the tonneau cover not being installed properly. The rubber dividers were getting caught when being closed due to the cover being uneven.

They tried to fix but then decided they will need it for the whole day. Put me in a rental and picked up at end of day. This was this past Monday.

Tuesday morning took my kids to school and decided to switch drive mode from the sport mode to custom. I then realized I was getting a warning about height not being able to adjust. I then noticed another warning that I missed about not being able to charge and that the truck needs service. Took it in and they put be back in a rental. Finished at end of day and apparently there was a hose that simply was not connected that made the car rise and lower.

Then, this morning I go out to the truck to take my girls to school and the truck is a complete brick. I cannot even open a door, unplug charger, open bed…I mean nada. Then Tesla had to literally send 3 different tow trucks with a total of 10 hours of waiting. I won’t bore you with the details but just simply an awful experience. None of the drivers, except for the last one, knew what to do, yet I had the Tesla service rep texting me that they will know what to do.

So now, at 9:33pm CST, I can only assume they have the car because I did not get any kind of confirmation nor any service notification in my app. Day 6 a brick in my driveway and day 7 will be in the shop. I really hope this is not common.
We were planning on taking this in a road trip but I really have my doubts. Anyways, thanks for listening and, again, just wanted to get this off my chest and share my experience so far. The few days I did drive it I absolutely LOVE it! But this experience has left a very bitter taste.
I have a lot of small issues and the appointment is coming up next week and it still says they are reviewing the service appointment and will let me know if I'm eligible for alternative transportation. They also would not add all the issues to the appointment saying they will give them a courtesy inspection.
Second truck with more scratches, scrapes, pitting(?), sounds and other small issues.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I think even if a wheel fell off of mine, I'd still love it like the ring in Lord of the Rings.

I'd echo other people's sentiment that with the layoffs, employee morale is probably low. Not knowing if you have a job tomorrow sucks.
Yup, totally agree. I absolutely love it!

At least you can tell your grad kids you were one of the first prototypes!
We experienced it as it was built and we felt all the frustrations that Elon musk avoided by being the boss.

Sorry to hear that!

I've had mine for 4 weeks and have been beating on it pretty good with almost half of my 1200 miles on rugged Forest Service roads, and associated trails. I've torn up some tight paved twisties at speeds that would cause many people to piss their pants, flown over rugged backcountry roads at irresponsible speeds, did a couple of 100mph to zero braking tests and loaded/unloaded two loads of firewood, both of which I think exceeded the rear axle 1800 lbs. capacity, all with 100% reliability. I've kicked at least three of the door panels multiple times as hard as I could, engaged and disengaged the front and rear lockers multiple times, driven through deep, heavy sloppy snow with all wheels spinning and fighting for traction, brodied gravel corners, etc. etc. No issues whatsoever.

The way I have pounded on this thing makes me think if something was going to break, it already would have. So I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, I think they will get them sorted out and this will all be a distant memory by next month.

Distant memory for everyone else but not for that guy.

Hey, so this is what I was wondering. I was thinking of starting another thread about road trips and everyone’s tips and overall experience. We were thinking about taking it down to Florida for vacation (6.5 hr drive w/o charging) and now with these problems I am a bit hesitant.
