Not sure if that’s what you want to use it for especially if you have a treated surface. I bought acetone in order to strip ProtectaClear off the truck if I messed up and needed to start over which I did have to strip the hood and redo. I used 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean spills off the hard plastics (which wasn’t much because I taped them off) but I do have a spill that I will try to rub acetone on a very tiny part of the bumper if I have to or can’t scrape it without damaging it.
the Acetone melted the gloves they provided and also my gloves when I tried to strip a single panel. So jelly you got it done nicely.

Tesla Cybertruck ProtectaClear amateur application completed. Easy to do! gloves

After trying to apply it and fix it over the past month, I'd say I have money to burn. They actually sent me your photos as an example. Well done!
Not mad at you. I’m a Battalion Chief and going back on duty tomorrow and Wednesday. By the time I get off Thursday I’ll be able to wash the truck and take some really nice pictures. What I can say right now is I can’t make a print show up on my car. I actually made videos of the entire process (about four or five 5 minute videos) but couldn’t upload them. Maybe my fault this is new stuff for me. I’ll try again just in case.

@Noblelr3, can you provide more pictures? Bigger ones too? Thanks!
I’ll try again to upload videos. For sure I’ll upload pictures of the final product Thursday after I’m able to wash it.

I have seen videos here but can’t upload mine that I did while applying the ProtectaClear but they may be too long. I’ll pull my truck out soon and take a very fast video to see if it uploads as well as pictures

Is it better to just apply thin coats so you don’t get rubs and drips?
No don’t do that. You need to make long smooth strokes with a soaked but not dripping pad. I preferred the circular pad they send apparently with the new kits but I got the exact same thing at O’reily’s Auto. I’m sure Auto Zone has them. Do not let the pad get rough against the truck or you’re going to have a long day. Just keep it wet and keep it moving. Do not go back to fix anything after it gets tacky. The fix is much easier than removing an entire panel to do over which I did on my frunk.

Disclaimer, I didn’t use their gloves as I had my own but I kept switching them out.

Do you think the bigger pad helps? I’m thinking the bigger pad helps apply the coating in a larger area quicker.
By bigger pad do you mean the blue circle pads that comes with the kit? Yes it’s much better in my opinion. The other pad that comes with the new kit (rectangular) is necessary for the corners and near the mirrors.

Thank you @Noblelr3 for showing what a little bit of patience and attention to the directions can do!
No problem. I’m very disappointed in the OoS video. I’ve watched his videos while waiting on the CT and gained confidence in his craft when I watch and followed with success his BKF and Windex video. However, looking at the way, in my opinion, he bashed this product, I now understand there is a definite bias and can no longer trust what he says about other products. Had I not already applied ProtectaClear to my CT, and watched his video, I would have never given it a chance. It’s my pleasure to educate in an unbiased way that this product does (so far) what it says. Plus he skipped several key steps. Destined to fail.

LOL! I have zero bias and my opinion resonates with his from actual experience. It wasn’t until Everbrite dismissed all my concerns did I feel like this is wrong. Try the product and let me know. ??

I’m sorry Adrenalinwill, I wasn’t saying you were biased, I’m saying Colton’s representation of PC is biased. Reason I say that is, I’ve now seen his video, and I can say you have to go way out of your way to spill so much of the product on the CT that it runs and bleeds then rainbows all in the same area. You literally have to intentionally do that. And by the way, I actually did apply the product in about 4 hours for the first coat and 1 hour for the second coat. See the video. I also did it with about 2-3 Makers Mark Old Fashioneds on board. Yet I still couldn’t make the mess he did. He’s a professional I’m just a firefighter. Go figure.
