I tried twice and failed. Despite being meticulous, I couldn't find the right balance between too much and too little. I had to pay $30 to return the product to get half of my money back, but it was better than nothing. I liked how easy it was to wipe off the truck with Protectaclear applied.
It seems so hard to do. If I got it done it'd have to be professionally.

Hey @ProtectaClear, if I get my CT polished, could I get ProtectaClear applied somewhere? Does coleton do it now? I'd make tht drive.

Yep, Coleton will do the whole detail and application, not sure how much he is charging. I think @Chris9702L would agree it is worth the drive.

Do you think the mirrored polished look would come through the coating well?

Ok, so what’s the consensus? This stuff or DIY coating? I’ve been waiting to do mine until this question could be answered. Can it be now?

To me, (don't have the truck yet) I would say this if you can get it professionally done. It seems like DIY is an uphill battle.

High risk high reward. It seems like ProtectaClear done right looks and protects better than anything else. But it's hard to do right

Gotta be honest with ya. I was really stressed and did a ton of research on this, wrapping, PPF, etc. After 3 months of ownership, I just run it through the local automatic car wash (with brushes ), BRIEFLY wipe off any water drips, and call it nice. It looks great. Love it more everyday!

I would say it’s a toss up. Even some professionals can’t apply it right. It’s all about developing the touch, either the right amount or slightly less. I would aim on doing the top of the trunk, experiment and perfect the technique before moving on.

I did ProtectaClear and I love it. As with any coating it is all about the preparation. It took 7-10 treatments of iron remover before each panel was decontaminated. I bet this is where most people are going wrong. It takes a lot of work to truly and completely decontaminate a Cybertruck.

I don’t think you need any type of semi permanent coating. I am getting good results from an automatic car wash. I think it has ceramic coating in the wash and it is not streaking. Looks even and no fuss and work. I just go there when it gets dirty.
You leverage an automatic car wash and selected a option with Ceramic Coating? I am a member of Quick Quack and when I got the Cybertruck I lowered to their lowest plan tk avoid all the extra stuff that goes with the top level offering they having…thinking it would put stuff on the truck that would make it a mess.

Washlab is little different. I drop off the car and they do the rest. Only think I tell them is not to apply the tire shine. I think they have ceramic coating in the wash because, they are geared for more high end cars and they come out very shiny, even my Cybertruck come out kind of shiny.
