Just took delivery in Upland (05/30) AWD - Initial Thoughts

Hello everyone,

Yes, yet another initial review from a regular joe.

Owned EVs since 2014, and 2x Tesla MYLRs since 2020.

Initial Observations (VIN 113xx)

- Nearly flawless at delivery. Panel gaps, alignment, cleanliness, etc all tip-top. Was at ~95% SoC. Absolutely beautiful to walk up to it. I was in utter disbelief that the day had come. 1,652 days since reservation. Wow.

- It came with ALL FS accessories: Sun Shade, 2x L-track hooks, 1x L-track bottle opener, THE 4x VAULT D-RINGS!!, carpet mats, all-weather mats, mobile charger, smugglers bay dividers, center console tray. No wheel covers of course, but I was told that they would be shipped directly to my home when ready.

- The d-rings are very easy to unfold/fold. IIRC, some noted that the first batch were very hard to open/close. These are perfect.

- Tonneau cover perfect (so far, haha!!). Opens/closes smoothly.

- Tail gate perfectly aligned both sides.

- Interior flawless. Spotless.

- Drive home was surreal. Smooth, fast, quiet. SbW and RWS simply can’t be appreciated unless experienced first-hand.

- Rear view isn’t an issue. Yes, rear view mirror is comically small. Screen view is just fine.

- UI speed improvement from Intel Atom (2020 MY) to Rizen is dramatic. Screen is beautifully crisp. Apps launch in an instant.

- I don’t know what the issue was with some posters re: window switch placement?? It’s fine. I’m 6’2” and sit back a bit, maybe that helps?? Total non-issue for me.

- Squircle is life. All other wheel shapes are now obsolete. Got used to no stalks in about 30 seconds.


I mounted Abstract Ocean’s center caps/lug covers. PERFECT color/texture match. They look OEM. I might be selling my wheel covers when they arrive, haha!!

That’s all for now. My 2020 MYLR will soon be listed for sale. It was the best car I’ve ever owned up to today.

The CT is just amazing, and I’m still processing that the 4 years, 6 months, and 7 days of waiting is over, and I actually get to drive this thing, haha!!

To all those still waiting, hang in there!! It’s worth it.

There was no choice when I configured (03/15, I’ll update the OP with the info). I’m digging the white. Nice contrast with the black and alcantara.

It better be $2,500 now, haha!!

Yes, I have powerwalls/solar so I didn’t qualify.

After I submitted the PS survey, I got the email about getting the $700 credit two weeks after delivery. But that was before Tesla changed it to a $2,500 credit. I hoping since I took delivery AFTER the change to $2,500, that I’ll get it.

FWIW, the advisor at delivery said I should get the $2,500, but we know their advice is free and worth exactly that, haha!!

Congrats! You’re right—it’s very worth the wait and completely indescribable unless you’ve experienced it. Can’t wait to see what color you choose for wrap!

I’m 3 weeks in and no voucher yet. I plan on reaching out next Monday and requesting it.

@EmJay, were your key cards “cybertruck” key cards or just plain Tesla key cards? I seem to remember seeing something where the CT cards had a different graphic.

RN11319XXXX here - I placed my reservation dec 2019. I was given the FS invite over the weekend, so I reserved beast, but after my wife convinced me my balls would be in a jar by end of week if I went through with it I opted for a awd downgrade (I like my balls they're a feature of me).

Anyway, I literally downgraded and simultaneously received vin all in one day today. I don't understand? I live in TN why/how when quoted aug-sept am I already vin'd? my experience with Tesla is that I receive car 3 weeks max from vin. Is this really happening? Can someone gently explain to my wife the situation?

Yeah check the back of the card. The outline is the truck. There’s a few out there on Etsy and another site I’d have to look up again that sell stickers for the front.

Interesting. Mine look like the keycards from my 2020 MYs.

They brought a sealed 2-pack of keycards out to the CT. I wonder if mine didn’t have its CT keycards on delivery and they subbed in these? I’ll swing by the SC and ask. It’s not like I use the keycards much, haha!!
