Some things he likes but overall disappointed, his ending conclusions are fairly harsh, but not entirely wrong. Jump to the 26 minute mark if you want to just hear that part.

Wow.

2 personal favorites: 48 volt was done before. And so was Steer by Wire and 4 wheel steering. But it's just Tesla being lazy and needing the tech to fix their problems...like designing the wheelbase too long, so needed the 4 wheel steering (for reference, it's 2 inches shorter than an F-150 Lightning).

Technically he is correct: there have been a instances of 48 volts being used in sub-systems (mostly propulsion) but never replacing the 12 volt system (which everyone and their brother said needed to be done). And there was a low volume car that used Steer by wire (but still physically connected), but nothing in the volume of Cybertruck.

The Steer by wire is such a revolutionary change, that him dismissing it shows his bias, and basically taints all his other comments.

To each his own. I just hope I never lose my objectiveness this badly...

That’s why I prefer WhistlinDiesel’s “technical reviews” to most other Youtubers. At least there is no deception in his honest destruction ?

This isn’t a fair, unbiased review, It’s like an opinion piece in the newspaper and should be titled as such. I was trying to give this guy some credit for speaking his mind, but I had to stop listening with 2 minutes left.

It reminds me of the famous idea that “The best liars tell partial truths.”

It would take a lot of time to refute all of the things he says that he can’t justify with any data. Things like “Tesla is now often 2nd or 3rd and are not creating anything innovative and new.” (Paraphrase)

I’ll give this guy a review of his “reviews.” He gets a 3/10. Some decent content, but clear bias, unsubstantiated statements, and lack of insight into the overall economics of car manufacturing, make this “review” more of a fluff opinion piece.

Yes that was so obviously wrong, why didn't he compare it to another similarly sized truck?

The Lexus RZ has steer by wire, as well as some Infinitis. The Lexus version is a much better implementation than the Infinitis, though

Edit: Apparently Toyota is still honing the steer by wire, despite reviewers saying it’s an amazing implementation. So just the Infinitis

I was giving him some credence ... until I heard that "Drive my wire has been there for a long time" and "48 volt" architecture already existed or "4 wheel steering.." . Well it may be... but Telsa brought it masses and has democratized it... The innovation that Tesla has done is.. (1) to challenges a boxy pickup truck design with more radical design, (2) exposed technologies like drive by wire etc. It's like telling Apple did not revolutionize phones... I remember HTC had a touch phone with camera way back in 2006... But.. it is his opinion and he is an idiot...

That's what you get from YouTube reviewers, that's why it's important to get broad exposure to get a good idea of what is opinion and what is fact. Claiming they needed four wheel steering, like it's some handicap, because the wheel base is too long is a little disappointing to hear from someone normally so objective. This is clearly an opinion being framed as fact. Other YouTube reviewers do this also based on personal biases like past bad/good experiences that they mistakenly feel apply to everyone, either pro or anti Tesla or w/e. To me, all that matters is the facts, let me decide what works for me, spare me your meaningless personal vendettas. But that's asking a lot of humans

He suggested the Model 3 was amazingly innovative but the CyberTruck isn’t.

using his own logic for what qualifies as “innovative” that is factually incorrect.

sad to see how low iq some people are…

Rich is clearly not low IQ, his problem is his huge ego. He thinks he's an EV bigshot and hates the fact that Tesla won't give him the time of day. This has made him too biased to take seriously. He hates Tesla and can't see past that.

incorrect.

He was praising the model 3. A hater doesn’t praise the object of their hatred.

"uninspired".

What utter nonsense. I'm not going to bother watching, since this isn't a review but merely a scornful attempt to continue his beef with Tesla.
