My CT had to go to the shop to repair scuffs on the dash that existed when I took delivery. The good folks at Tesla Upland, CA were kind enough to lend us a Model X.
I have driven other Teslas prior to getting my CT, including having test driven a Model X. But never with the yoke.
In my humble opinion, Tesla HUGELY missed the mark with the yoke. It is an absolute pain in the ass to steer. An abysmal experience.
In contrast, Tesla hit the ball out of the park with the CT’s squoval wheel, steer by wire, and rear wheel steering. Absolute dream to drive, compared to the nightmarish experience of the X with a yoke. They need to roll out the CT steering philosophy/approach to the rest of the fleet.
The ride in the X also felt not nearly as smooth. The same bumps around my town were waaaay more noticeable. And honestly, the seating wasn’t quite as comfortable.
The X did have FSD, however, and V.12 is nuts!!!! So freaking cool. Can’t wait till we get our update.
