I had no choice! I had to cancel my Cybertruck order today.

This is the situation I am in for similar reasons. I received a VIN and declined for two weeks and received a second VIN. Fear I need to cancel but want a full refund.
Personally the refund tasted bitter… I almost told them to keep it, but why? After you cancel your order, Tesla will request a short survey asking why, the drop down box has most common answers, which tells me that Tesla is listening and clearly I’m not the first to cancel. After the survey Tesla will prompt you for your bank routing number and account m, so they can make an electronic transfer. Pretty easy to do.

I just received my invitation to buy today, but I don't want the Foundation series (I don't need FSD or a light-bar, so the $20,000 uncharge for foundation would be wasted on me.). But I don't want to cancel yet. For those who have already done so, how do I inform Tesla I want to wait for a non-Foundation truck?

I believe you can sit on the odder until your ready, or until a different model CT is released. The reason I cancelled because I have other orders in the queue, and I wanted to send a message to Tesla, in hopes they may fix some of the CT concerns before they fully ramp.

Did you put down the $1,000 additional deposit, get a VIN and walk away from your actual delivery, or did you just decide to not use the reservation and get your $100 back?
I cancelled before putting down the 1K. I was pleased to have the opportunity to provide feedback on why I cancelled the reservation and judging from the detailed drop down menu in the feedback link, I am clearly NOT the first to cancel.

I was wondering the same… What kind of business needs a truck to race from Florida to California…
Jesus Christ, does anyone actually read the original post, or do you only have silly uninformed comments?
I challenge you to cancel the other two orders now and purchase a Chevy and Rivian, now! Best of luck.
ROTFLMAO

lol… Tesla has a “superior charging network”… not CT. So do you have a point, or are you just puking all over the post?
Hey, you said it had the superior network, now trying to claim otherwise? ?

I think we all see who's doing the puking here.

So, you only cancelled a reservation, not an actual order, so this whole thing is trivial. I get it now. I guess this is no longer a forum worth your time. ;)

I do feel there is an edge of fact here that the CT is obviously less efficient than other Tesla models and will burden long distance travel in some capacity.
Ummm, yeah, it's a pickup truck! It's called the right tool for the job. Sure, a pickup can do it, but not as efficiently as a sedan like the Model S. We knew that from the get-go.

I have a dim view of people who chose a pickup for long-distance Interstate travel and expect it to perform better than a sedan. Pickups have always been a compromise.

I guess I’m just not seeing this from your point of view, I too was very very disappointed when Tesla claimed 500mi range and then when actual specs were released it was only 340mi but with that said, why are just now canceling your order and making a thread? I believe that is why ppl aren’t taking you seriously and calling you a Karen. This all seems ( I could be wrong ) attention driven.

must not like you just found out the specs yesterday so you cancelled and made this thread.

So again the question has to be asked, why this sudden rant and cancellation like you haven’t known this for over a year now? Why not cancel all 3 orders? Do you honestly feel like it will magically chance to 500mi range in 2026 when your other reservation numbers all call?

Don't be silly... The Florida to California race was used as an example to highlight the fact that the Cybertruck does not perform any better on the road than the competitors trucks. Infact, when you take into consideration that Cyber had the advantage of a superior charging network, and the fact that Tesla was the last one to market... The Tesla should have easily won the race. My business does require real world range. I live in So Cal and no mater if we travel north through LA on the 5, North East up the 15 towards Las Vegas, or East on the 10 through Palm Springs, we gain altitude, which strains any EV's battery. Do you consider 80 miles of range while towing to be an acceptable number for the leading EV manufacturer in the world?
Maybe you are unaware that the particular route of the race you seem to put so much credibility in was chosen for its friendliness to 350 kW CCS fast chargers. It was not representative of the results of a random course.

A different race, with different drivers, will have different results.

I think you might be trying to say it’s no longer worth your time. It’s kind of interesting to see how many people got all hurt hurt over me cancelling my reservation. When I posted this, I expected some negative feedback, but I really expected most would be more positive sarcasm like hey better for me because now my trucks gonna come that much earlier! It’s my choice to cancel the first of three and if Tesla can’t step up to the plate and hit a home run before my next two come up. I’ll have no choice but the cancel those reservations as well.
You see, I’m not some some yuppy kid who needs to be stroked by the crowd. My plan was to put these to work, and if CT can’t do the job they are of no use to me. It’s really that simple.

I appreciate your feed back. Did you know my work trailer weighs just shy of 12,000lbs when fully loaded? It might be fun for you swing by the office and hook it up to your model S Sedan. I’d like to test how well the big 4-door performs when pulling the same trailer my Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax “compromise” has no trouble hauling 300+ miles to a remote off grid job site. Granted we don’t tow 300 miles every day… but I think you get the point.

Let's see, why would people be pushing back? It's a trolling headline. You absolutely had a choice. It was not an order, it was a reservation, and you did not have to cancel it, you could just wait until you are satisfied like many others.

As to not doing the job, you have never stated what the job was. We have no idea how to analyze why that might be and whether there are any better choices to do it. Your first big complaint was that it didn't win a rigged cross-country race. Your claim it was less efficient was false.
