The plastic trim on top of the bed rail flew off while on a highway at 70 mph. I'm thinking the clips were npt on correctly. Anyone else? Going on for service next week including front turn signals get fogged up as well.

Others have reported this issue.

These parts can become loose, and if they left at the top, the wind takes care of the rest.

Thanks. I haven't seen the threads yet where it happened to others. The passenger side is very tight feeling when I pull up from the accessory mount locations, so I feel someone on assembly line didn't install clips correctly. My M3 was perfect from 2019. A little disappointed, but I still love the truck!

Sorry to read. Same happened to me, although I made it to 95 when mine ripped off, so guess that’s a win. Clips are a bad design and believe Tesla is aware. If you haven’t already, complete a service request. Mine quoted at 3 weeks out, but that’s for mobile service since I’m 2 hours from nearest dealer, you may get in sooner depending on your circumstances.

Hi Scarecrow,

My service appointment is tomorrow morning at a Tesla repair center here in Houston. Hopefully they have the part in stock for repair. I was told my foggy turn signals are normal after a rain since they are not sealed. I didn't like that answer!

Best,
Todd

Yikes... as you shouldn't. Sorry, didn't read your original post carefully - you mentioned you had a service appointment. Good luck.

If you don't mind posting, I'd be interested to read the fix for the bed rail caps. I got the sense that Tesla acknowledged the clips were defective so I'd be interested to hear if they're just reinstalling the trim with the current clip system or if there there is a new fastening design.
