If it has 3 rows of seats and windows for passengers, yeah I’d probably trade in my truck for it. I’d be transporting 6 people a lot more than I’d be transporting bulky items. There’s a distinct lack of van-like EVs on the market, as defined by ability to carry 3 rows of adults. The R1S probably comes closest.

I currently use my AWD as a work vehicle, but this would be pretty sweet.

Love it… especially since the rear chassis is already modular… the wing frame could be swapped for a larger rectangle… that plus a rear hatch… Looks great.

What are you going to do about that rear aero?

Having a big brick in back is not great for aerodynamics. It would destroy your range before you even put any weight in it.

No different than the new ESprinter or Etransit vans. Of course you are going to lose efficiency with a van-like shape. But I think I’ve seen maybe 10,000 vans a day on the road doing work related things. Electricians, painters, builders etc. They are meant too keep your things stowed away in the back (covered and water free). A bit of range loss comes with the territory, but the savings could be well worth it. Tying to be optimistic.

Really depends on price. And will it be 5 years from now? Lots of questions still. I just got a new work van so depends on timing I guess.

Yeah probably be ready just about the time you need a new work van!

...Before you put a load in them, they only get 69% of the miles per kilowatt than Cybertruck. That Cybervan would have only 234 EPA miles.

That's a big problem that would need to be solved.

If it can match the cargo volume and price point of e-transit and rumored electric-sprinter, and provide better range, then it’ll sell like hotcakes in the commercial business and Class B industry. Imagine the amount of savings Business owners and RV owners will have. These ICE Vans have high capital and crazy maintenance.

As Elon said today for Semi, if you love money, then it’s a no brainer to go for Semi trucks. Same logic would apply for Sprinter/Transit Vans as well, but it has to beat their specs and also not cost a fortune. That’s easier said than done! Probably another 5-6 years? ?‍♂

@Crissa - you are right about the aero, but if it’s better than the electric Van options out there, which is not that many, then people will buy it.

Sounds pretty good right now compared to a “technologically advanced” ESprinter.
Tesla Cybertruck Would you buy a Cybervan? IMG_0817

If this is a few years in the making, hopefully by then Tesla will have the tech to achieve higher range from their batteries. They have a Semi that has a range of 500 miles loaded. Maybe some of that R&D will cross over to the “Cybervan” if it is ever produced. This is all hypothetical at this point, but just going by the CT’s demand it would become a game changer. An AWD, Electric powered van with FSD would be a fleet owners dream “AT THE RIGHT PRICE”.
