Joe T. has a good history with his prediction accuracy thanks to his numerous inside connections within Tesla.

It makes sense since Tesla is going through the reservation list quickly.

Also, now that Elon officially stated that non-FS production will start in Q3 many buyers have elected not to order the $100k/$120k FS trucks.

He made it sound like someone told him at the Shareholder meeting. But Elon didn't give a date. I was wondering if anyone could confirm this 6/30 date for FS orders closing

I was there. And no Cybertruck questions were really asked during the QA. And Elon came in dancing and left ASAP after the QA.

He might be right or he might be wrong... Probably he's just going by next the quarter starts July. I'm still betting it's actually the 4th quarter starting October...

Right, but I feel bad for all the people with later reservation numbers who didn't mind the higher price and would be about to get a FS Cybertruck but will now have to wait for all the lower reservation numbers to take delivery before the opportunity to configure comes back around to them.

True and the federal tax credit could end very quickly after Jan 6th 2025.
January 6th? I think you are confused about when inauguration happens. It's always on January 20th (unless that falls on a Sunday, then it's January 21).

The $7500 savings equals a top notch vinyl wrap or PPF install. No small potatoes.
It's hard for me to believe people actually pay good money to wrap their super-hard steel Cybertruck in soft plastic that wears out and looks dingy after some hard use. It also greatly increases the cost of repair should you be in an accident.

From a purely factual standpoint, it's a huge liability. But I guess some people are willing to take that liability on simply to change the color.

They have gone from 115xxx to 116xxx in a week. One more week and they may just send out the FS option to the rest of the list. The take rate is so low, that wouldn’t shock me that they send all the invite by 6/30. Then they switch it sometime in July/august, but I have no insider knowledge.. if Joe is correct, that is how I see it playing out
So my RN is in that 116****** range. Where are you getting that they have jumped into that reservation range in a week?

There's a ton of people with 116 that received e-mails earlier this week.

This. 100%. Every day is a showcase of another putrid color wrap.

Stainless is more work to maintain if you want a super clean looking vehicle. Plus people like showing off individuality. I'll probably wrap mine in a year or so.

Or they might just continue down the line and high RN will get first dibs on the non-FS trucks.

As they should for a $80k truck, we gotta keep our fingers crossed.

They should raise the used EV credit to $10k and a higher $35k minimum. This would make EVs almost too good to pass up for people who really need incentives.

Lower the new EV credit to the same $50k as sedans. This applies the credit to the average new vehicle, not to luxury products.

Politicians realize it isn't good optics subsidizing wealthy/lucrative purchaes, when the middle class continues to struggle with inflation. Let's help those who need help, used EV credit increases is the way.
On the same lines, wonder why the Covid payouts were given to people who were earning up to 175k/year? In fact why the handouts for people who were still working and having jobs? The monthly checks should have only been given to people like restaurant workers and others who completely lost their income and were in a very bad shape. It was disappointing to see people getting Fed checks in mail who were comfortably working from home compared to others who were literally struggling to meet their ends.
