Honestly, the conspiracy theorist in me still believes that Tesla was required to re-submit paperwork or something and they chose to leave CT off to help nudge FS buyer

so in closing…yeah I think the $20k premium for FS was a scam. That’s just my opinion
I agree with the rest of your post, but... Those who paid do have a truck (or soon will) while the rest of us... Don't.

I kept saying last year that advertising how many people were willing to pay $50k more for their truck wasn't going to end with them not paying $50k more for their truck.

I would bet Powershare for Home Backup will be an optional upgrade charge. It isn’t for everyone but some will use it.
There's no hardware difference on the Truck side, tho. It'll be an 'option' in name only.

American vehicle buyers generally want instant gratification because they are impatient. They don’t want to place an order and then wait months and months for delivery, hence the variety on new car lots.
True, and I'm saying that instant gratification comes at a heavier cost than most know.

Tesla doesn't want to make their customers have to pay for that. It's one of their many not-so-secret weapons to being able to effectively compete with the machine called "big auto" that keeps cranking out millions of ICE vehicles.

It's working. The Model Y outsold every other car in the world in 2023, and is on track to do it again in 2024.

Configured five days ago, 6/18/24 (AWD, White, Cyber Wheels). After the several reports lately of very quick VIN's, I thought I might see that kind of turnaround.

Nope. And incessantly firing up the app didn't help.

But this morning it finally came through. 19xxx. Just a few hundred shy of 20K.

Makes me wonder if that - 20,000 FS vehicles - might be the magic cutoff, rather than the calendar date of 7/1.

And if so, and given the probable weekly run rate (1400ish?), makes you wonder if they're not already in the process of transitioning to non-FS vehicles.

Regardless, we're just days away from that inflection point where the Cybertruck becomes accessible to a whole lot more people.

Don’t forget all the software based items that can become a upcharge on non-FS trucks

Off-Road mode. Has a big value. Easy to keep turned off.
Four wheel steering - rear wheels currently at 10 degrees for FS - what if not on or some fair amount lower?

Battery - what if smaller or limited by software?

Tonneau - someone mentioned no tonneau. Perhaps not an automatic one, more like a fabric one that is an option on other trucks.

I suppose we shall see, but there are options for Tesla beyond what’s we’ve been discussing
The tonneau is integrated into the design of the truck. I highly doubt they change this. Wheels, tires and software are easy to change but I doubt they mess with tonneau especially considering it’s important to range calculations and overall truck design. Either way, I am glad I bought FS because it’s been an amazing daily drive these past couple months.

Yes, when I turned down my FS reservation invitation to order, I noticed many of the nice features. Unfortunately, almost all of them I didn't want or need. Don't care about badges and graphics. Don't want white. Don't need a light bar, PowerShare, or Wall Connector. On the fence with FSD. Will shop around on liners. Don't need the rest on the list. I want 20" wheels and A/S tires.
I know it sounds like I'm not a Cybertruck fan...but I am. I'm one of those who simply wants a work truck. I'm also a fan of the Ford Lightning Pro with practically no options.

Those that bought FS keep posting threads like this to justify their purchase. Probably a good amount of FS buyers can't really afford it comfortably either as evidenced by the amount who finance in this sky high interest environment.

Its too funny for the gotta have it crowd to be lecturing others when any sane person can see the bottom is about to fall out
Tesla Cybertruck For Those Waiting for Non-FS Cybertrucks -- Here's the Flip Side to Consider no-disagree

These threads are created for people to justify their purchases. It is either informational, people excited about their trucks, or questions to the group.

P.S. I purchased my Cybertruck in cash. I know many here purchased in cash, as well. Saved up for 5 years doing odd jobs here and there. Had a ton of side gigs.

I can buy 100 FS with cash. I just want 1. Where is it? Tesla must hate cash. All these people with no intention of buying reserving VINs and not cancelling their order GTFOTW.
