Received the Starlink Mini today. Posting a few photos I wish I saw before to get a better sense of how it might all come together.

The barrel connectors on the bottom of the dish and wall plug

The dish is very sensitive to the tilt and orientation of the device. The app will complain if it's not correct and will give you real time feedback as you move it

Putting it on the tonneau like I did will not work as it kept complaining about the tilt.

I then tried placing it in the frunk, just because and got 64/4.8. Line of sight would have been partially blocked by the hood.

Placing it out in the open grass at the end I was able to get 108/3.1.

When the dish sank a bit as the speed test was running the speed dramatically dropped off.

I'll give it a shot when I can but I'm not sure if it's going to be entirely reflective of true performance. There is a clear ceramic tint on the windshield which I'm not sure affects the speed.
...and there will also be a reflective white image while you drive upon reflection...?

do you need the starlink connection all the time? I think @Crissa came up with a sweet setup, albeit it required a bit of work and tinkering.

2 cheap /quick options I'd play with:

option 1: consider using a wood/plastic wedge to put under the antenna to change the tilt while on the tonneau

option 2 : make a dish support to attach it on one of the rails inside the truck bed. like some sort of arm extender in an S angled L shape. you install the dish on that and when you want to use the starlink you'd need to just open the tonneau

let us know what your final solution is.

UP is selling option 2. I initially backordered for gen 2 but switched for the mini.

Parked and misaligned by 33 degrees I still get a decent 85/9.9. I slightly misunderstood before and can still use it misaligned (on the tonneau or wherever) but just not have the optimal performance.

Not me, I live under the redwoods! Lotsa envy, tho.

I do sometimes mount the solar cells to the roof rack I have. That's kinda like that.
