Cybertruck FSD wishful thinking.

I don't think FSD will be available until there are at least 1,000,000 Cybertrucks on the road. I'm thinking by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027. Reason being, there is not enough data like there is on the other Tesla models. I am about 98% sure of this, and I believe why Elon gave such an early date, well... To sell more Cybertrucks of course... but 100% hope I am wrong. But I know if I owned a company like Tesla.I would make sure everything is working 100% before any risk of lawsuits. What are your estimates?

That’s such a bizarre prediction that it wreaks of FUD. There is no way Elon would have said it was coming in version 12.5 if it needed 4+ years of cars on the road.

You may be right about needing more on the street before FSD is trained for the CT, but I think your number is way high.

? at comments mentioning lawsuits, and Tesla should have waited to roll out, etc... no one put a gun to anyone's head and when we took delivery we knew what we were getting. Anyone who bought, or buys at anytime now, could have waited for whatever level of quality or completeness, or features they wanted.

You may be right about needing more on the street before FSD is trained for the CT, but I think your number is way high.

Didn’t Elon also say they can (I forget the term) “ghost train” by using trucks currently on the road?

I don't think the cameras are that different on CT to require just data from CTs. Vision based learning can be applied across models. They just have to test and program in new vehicle dimensions, turning radius/performance, etc. so the CT takes corners, parks, and drives appropriately.

Tesla does not need such huge numbers of Cybertrucks to train FSD. Models X and S have less than 200K each and those models are different sizes than 3/Y yet Model X/S have FSD too.

Elon already annouced Cybertruck would get FSD with 12.5 release which should be available in next month or two. Not even 40k Cybertrucks will have been delivered by then.

Cybertruck will not receive this release; it will receive the next version, which is 12.5. Musk said:
“12.5 will be out in late June. Will also see a major improvement in mpi and is single stack – no more implicit stack on highways.”

He then confirmed in another post on X that Cybertruck will get Full Self-Driving with the 12.5 release.
