Just saw this, and ordered it: Craftsman V20 Tire Inflator

"CRAFTSMAN V20 Tire Inflator, Portable Air Compressor, 3 Modes: Cordless, 120V Corded, and 12V Car Adapter, Air Pump, Battery Sold Separately (CMCE520B)"

Camelcamelcamel says it's the cheapest price since October 2021. $63.20. 4.5 stars, 2800+ reviews.

Runs on 120v and 12v. On sale for the next couple of hours. Not sure what the price goes to after that.

I haven't tried it yet, but thought it might be of interest.

Sadly that's going to seem like a cheap child's toy when filling a 35" tire on a 20" rim from flat. And out of the question to do all 4 tires consecutively.

I would strongly recommend against buying that unit, even for regular passenger car tires.

When on a long trip I ratchet strap my pancake air compressor in the back with hoses and pressure gauge.

Well, my use case is inflating a single tire after patching a puncture on the road, once every 20 years or so.

That said, I do see the folly in cheaping out on a compressor while outfitting a $120k+ truck...

I purchased this tire inflator from Costco for $49. I've used once to add 3lb to CT tires. It claims to fill a car tire in 5 minutes. Its small, wireless with built-in rechargeable back up battery.

I picked that up at Costco, too! It actually came in really handy around the house - I had to keep filling a leaking wheelbarrow tire out in the yard. :) I've used it on my ebike, too, and it was much easier than firing up my big compressor for sure. I'm a fan, but I want something that I can toss in the smuggler's bay and not think about. I'm not sure how long the charge lasts in these portable ones and it would be annoying to find it dead when I needed it. (Though I know I could sit there and charge it off the truck for a while).

Picked up my CT on Wednesday. Epic all around.

The next morning I checked pressure in all four tires.... 46ish pounds, which is 4 shy of what Tesla recommends.

I have the same Fanttik compressor that @BeFamousVideo linked. That unit has done yeoman duty topping off tires in my Model 3, along with numerous other minor chores around the homestead. But adding 4-odd psi to the four 35" CT tires took 4-5 minutes each, and the Fanttik was very hot when it was finished. It presented an error code - over temp, no doubt - when I took it back inside the house to charge afterwards.

What @Woodrick said. Compressors of this ilk are fine for a quick top-off of a small car tire. They're ill-suited to doing anything serious... like airing up four truck tires after a 4-wheel adventure; or bringing the CT's 35" tires up to standard pressure from a very low starting point - say, after repairing a puncture.

Remember the old line from Jaws - "We're gonna need a bigger boat." Well, we CT owners are gonna need a bigger compressor.

Anyone have experience with this Makita 120V compressor?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084GY6DXV

Found via this YT video:
I think the compressor probably has decent filling speed but the integrated tank is a net negative for filling tires. It causes the compressor to work harder than it needs to. And the overall unit is bigger and heavier than necessary.

Bottom line: Yes, it will work, no it's not a great choice.

I totally agree. It gets warm but is good for topping off our giant meat tires.

I just got the Tesla air compressor with referral points and see that it comes with a 12v cigarette connector. I got pretty discussed immediately and stopped looking to see if by some chance it could be powered by a Tesla. I'm assuming there is no Tesla with a 12v cigarette plug. I'm thinking bat shit crazy, but that is just me....

The Cybertruck air compressor is not available yet.
Cybertruck Air Compressor Ultra + Tire Repair Kit (tesla.com)(Late 2024)

All the other Teslas have 12V plugs.
