yup, which is why you should not have loose items inside the vehicle. The glove box and center storage are not there for decorations. If you get rear-ended at a stop sign, that tablet is not flying through the windshield. What if the hit is strong enough to dislodge the heavy table from the magnets and not sufficient to trigger the airbags, or they fail?

Close to zero is not zero. Take it as a notice and move on, there's no need to argue against people trying to make others safer.
The point is, my arrangement has a net positive impact on safety. It increases visibility in the CT if you use navigation.

Being able to see behind you increases safety every single time you merge. Having a tablet mounted decreases safety in the event of a rear end. I merge a lot more than I get rear-ended.

Plus the tablet only weighs a few ounces. I'll be fine.

I’m not arguing against, just adding to the discourse. And I seriously doubt your claim. You can’t look at the road and the nav. You’re taking your eyes off the road regardless where the screen is placed. The Tesla engineers have probably had that discussion FYI. Your life, car, and money, don’t let me stop you from having a good time!

It's how insurance companies and lawyers work.
No, it is not. They can make whatever assertions they want to, but it's up to them to prove it or lose in court. And lose a customer, too.

Tablets and phones can do split screen for ages now.
Only some, and you have to set it up ahead of time.

It's still up to them to prove you were doing it at the time.

...This is true for any display, a speedometer, a tach, radio, climate control...

The higher it is on the dash, the more of your peripheral vision can still be engaged, and the quicker a glance to it will be (although the difference of to the right vs down is pretty minimal).

There are a lot of people here doing useless, silly mods just for the sake of mods, without understanding Tesla in the slightest.

What I just said probably didn't make sense to you. ?‍♂

Nice. I wanted to do it on my other Teslas, but went with a Xreal Pro glasses. I watch Netflix while on FSD.
FSD's eye tracking is accurate enough to see that your eyes are fixed just above your dash and not the road. It also can tell if your pupils are fixed on a screen (static object) instead of naturally scanning around a wide arch of the roadway.

FSD will give you demerits and eventually ban you from the platform, so I don't advise this. But, above all, it's extremely dangerous and irresponsible.

Can I have 2 tablets please? One for Waze, and another for performance information, speed, etc. It is a Cyber truck after all, we should be surrounded by screens of information, maybe even some in mid air like minority report... :)

Seriously though, I have an extra screen on my Model 3 for waze in front of me and love it. I'm pretty sure that Hansshow or others will start cranking out screens for the Cybertruck sometime soon as well...

I had an Android tablet mounted on my '67 Corvette also but the tablet couldn't handle the heat inside the cabin in summer and would overheat easy. Hope you don't have the same issue.

Let’s bring this tread back to life. Anyone have photo of a iPad mini mounted on dash like this?

I'd thought of putting a portable laptop screen above in the visor zone. I only want to put my ADS-B airplane mapping data on it.;)
