The point is, my arrangement has a net positive impact on safety. It increases visibility in the CT if you use navigation.yup, which is why you should not have loose items inside the vehicle. The glove box and center storage are not there for decorations. If you get rear-ended at a stop sign, that tablet is not flying through the windshield. What if the hit is strong enough to dislodge the heavy table from the magnets and not sufficient to trigger the airbags, or they fail?
Close to zero is not zero. Take it as a notice and move on, there's no need to argue against people trying to make others safer.
Being able to see behind you increases safety every single time you merge. Having a tablet mounted decreases safety in the event of a rear end. I merge a lot more than I get rear-ended.
Plus the tablet only weighs a few ounces. I'll be fine.
