I honestly think it looks ridiculous. Doesn't fit the vibe of the truck. And this is from someone who was very concerned about not liking the square yoke. Turns out it is one of my favorite features, and one of the things I miss most when I get into my model Y.

At first I hated the squircle... But once I learned to drive the truck I realized how genius it was. Without the 4 wheel steer by wire, I'd be 100% on board for a round wheel. As it is, with <180° range of motion, I now much prefer the squircle.

Here's why: when I want to straighten out the front wheels, I can do it much faster with the wheel being square because I know exactly where the wheel is in it's rotation at all times. Then I want to make a full turn, the muscle memory is instantly there and I know exactly where my hands need to be without lifting either of them--while this is still true on a round wheel, I'd really struggle with not moving my hands on a traditional wheel. My experience with the squircle AND steer by wire combined has made me a more effective and safer driver.

Exactly, a round wheel doesn't have any good point of reference which becomes really important when you can go lock-to-lock in less than one turn of the wheel.

I’m still hoping for an option for a squircle with a thicker/beefier diameter to the grip itself rather than a larger diameter of the overall steering “wheel.” My hands are on the larger side so something a bit larger to wrap my fingers around than the current offering might be an improvement that wouldn’t require a larger steering wheel overall per se, nor a change in the shape of the design, just a thicker grip on a similar sized squircle.

Agree that the round one in the photos isn’t looking right in the CT.

Cheers

Yeaaaa… that’s gonna be a no from me dawg. Squircle doesn’t make sense without DBW, but with it it makes too much sense.

The incugruency of seeing something round inside a truck they designed to specifically avoid roundness is hurting my brain.

No sir…..I don’t like it.
