I really like the latest "wheel" in the interior photo. It reminds me of the Razor side by side I drove last month. It has a feel like a yoke with your hands on the bottom half, but it works great for offroading and backing up with your hand on the top. Also, I can envision resting my hand on the bottom left, while The CT is driving with autopilot. We've discussed many times that the supplemental safety restraint system assumes your hands are at nine and three... if your hand is at twelve, you're covering the airbag and your arm will be broken and thrown into your face if they activate. And they're designed to activate when needed, not when you're ready.
They also recommend not hooking your thumbs into the wheel except when necessary, so your hands can be pushed away from the steering wheel without incurring injury.

Gives whole new meaning to the term "facepalm"... if your hand is at twelve, you're covering the airbag and your arm will be broken and thrown into your face if they activate.

I strongly prefer this dash cluster setup as well as the arm rest cushion rather than the naked slide door over the center storage.

What an odd, weirdly defensive response...
I guarantee you I'm a better driver with my hand at 12:00 than most people are at 10 and 2
You are the target customer for the yoke. If you hold the steering wheel at 12 o'clock when your airbag deploys your wrist will be driven into your face. It's not uncommon for the only injuries of a moderate crash to be directly attributable to airag deployment so making it impossible to hold the wheel at 12 o'clock will reduce the rate of injury accidents (and save your face and wrist from broken bones).I often drive one handed (mostly straight roads) with my left hand at 12:00 or my right hand at 6:00. I think the yoke steering wheel wouldn't give me the leverage to properly control the steering. Other than that I like the yoke, but don't think my driving style supports it. Yeah yeah, when FSD is out of beta "later this year" it won't be as relevant, but until then the round wheel might be more practical.
It's the Boston coming out! What an odd, weirdly defensive response...
Fine, just don't hold your beer bottle in front of the airbagI guarantee you I'm a better driver with my hand at 12:00 than most people are at 10 and 2, and I'm not going to change my style in the off chance my airbag goes off (hasn't yet in 36 years of driving).
Your 'better driving' doesn't change whether something hits you.

My point is the way I drive the yoke isn't good, so I guess I'll go with the wheel option.
The good news is 100% certainly there will be some circular steering option for you.I may have responded a bit aggressively above. I donāt disagree with the safety implications, and am in no way saying itās safer to drive with your hand on top. Iām simply saying there are times I like to drive at 12 or 6 and donāt want to have to stop just to get a yoke steering.
But, you will have to stop when the airbag drives your fist through your face.I may have responded a bit aggressively above. And good (and bad) news is by the time I have my CT FSD will brobably be āreleasedā and I wonāt need to touch the steering wheelThe good news is 100% certainly there will be some circular steering option for you.
