Ah damn I missed that and now I agree. They won't put it on a cybertruck until it's end to end.It is not per the Director of Tesla Autopilot
No CTs to ‘public’ testing. Not the same. They still play audible alerts when you get too close. I have it on my Model S.
Also, Elon said 12.5 is going out to the HW4 Model Y currently for testing.
So no CTs currently testing.
why do you say they won't until it's end to end--is this something that Elluswamy has tweeted about before?Ah damn I missed that and now I agree. They won't put it on a cybertruck until it's end to end.
I always hope that's is never not fake news! Then again, it could be not. ?
It’s an assumption. Yes, Tesla could spend the time and effort to adapt the manual coded highway stack for CT, but that would be a huge diversion of resources to which many don’t see Tesla doing.why do you say they won't until it's end to end--is this something that Elluswamy has tweeted about before?
Exactly what I was going to say, they won't spend the time to adapt it to old code just for it to merge the AI code in the next few releases. I write software. That's a waste of resources and I don't see them doing that, especially since Elon is big on cutting things he deems useless. The only way it would make sense is if the code could be adopted to both and I personally doubt it could. It’s an assumption. I would tend to agree as I fully believe that CT cannot get FSD or even AP without End-to-End on highway which is the bullet immediately above FSD on CT.Pure conjecture on my part but I'm thinking the 12.5 features are prioritized as such:
I'm sticking to my Aug/Sep timeframe for CT FSD.
- Earlier and more natural lane change decisions.
- Vision-only driver monitoring with sunglasses.
- End-to-End on highway.
- FSD on Cybertruck.
Thanks Dad. ?Keep in mind this is supervised full self driving and that word supervised is very important. We can talk till the cows come home about the wording full self driving part. Do yourself and anyone driving with you a huge favor and keep your hands on the wheel and you attention on completely taking over in a heart beat should something go wrong. I have owned/driven a model X since 2018 and use the FSD frequently but never take my attention from driving any longer than it takes to change the radio channel, press a preprogrammed button that i am very cognitive of where that button is located. I say these things because some people look at those videos of people behind the wheel of a tesla appearing to be in a deep somber sleep or with fake weighted hands placed on the wheel, assuming those a real those actions in my opinion are not only dangerous to those in each perspective vehicle but to the vehicles around them. All that said the self driving is fantastic on the highway and decent on the non highway roads and i am sure improving everyday but still far from perfect. Bottom line be diligent be safe.
I believe you mean 12.5.1 and 12.5.2? Or in other words the 2nd and 3rd release of 12.5I would tend to agree as I fully believe that CT cannot get FSD or even AP without End-to-End on highway which is the bullet immediately above FSD on CT.
I'm going to guess 15.2 is where we see end-to-end highway and our first real chance at CT release. Best case scenario would be some flavor of 15.1 this weekend which would tackle the first two bullet points going out to the Tesla Employees this weekend or next followed by release to the public and then 2-3 weeks for 15.2 which would put the timing very close to the end of August.
