Thanks. That’s when it most needed, no?
Yeah I mean it is kind of a bummer that it does pull that much power. So you kind of got to watch it if you're going to leave it for a long period of time like my trip I knew it was going to be sitting there for two and a half days at the airport and planned on it losing 10% of a. So I knew I'd be good leaving it on. You can always shut it off if it's getting too low plus it will shut off at 20% anyways. Yeah I would be really nice though if it used like five or less percent a day.

I lose 3% from 10pm-7am if I leave sentry on.. so I imagine all day would be 7-10%
It definitely depends on the circumstances how much percentage it loses. I think planning on 10 is good but I averaged a little less so 8 and 9 I think per day. I had 16 Century events in that 59 hour.

My 2024 Model X will lose 10% charge per day if left with Sentry ON. Approx 1% per day of OFF.
Thanks for taking time to respond. I have a good sense on sentry mode vs battery usage across the board. AND, Tesla has not and cannot improve on this, yet.

Sentry does drain a few percent. Obviously while out an about it’s worth it. Change the settings to be off at home. Maybe hook a ring cam up where you park. Also with the heat depending where you are has meant that cabin cool kicks on more than normal. I changed my setting to 100 degrees. These changes have led to only a couple percent drain.

Couple things to consider I would say. At a higher state of charge of 100% I have seen it drop off faster than sitting at 50% state of charge. Same as Stuck4ger, have seen close to 10% per day on our 2020 X with Sentry enabled at the airport. Starting at 100% with Sentery I’d say you seeing 10% loss is not crazy and likely nothing to be worried about.

“…nothing to worry about” is What I was trying to derive at. I went on a longer ride so I charged it to 100% and forgot to change the setting back to 80% last night. I don’t have temperature climate setting thing on. As I walk to the I try to cool the car. I am usually parked under the shade at home and at work.

Was this happening on version 2024.26.3.1 or 2024.20.7? I haven't experienced -10% overnight with sentry on, that seems excessive. Are you have a ton of sentry events? I'm not sure if that even effects it or not, but just curious.

Someone just make this a sticky so we don't get a thousand threads like this asking the same question that's been answered a million times already.

Yea sentry drains a good amount on my model x (cybertruck coming Oct-Dec). Turn it off if you need to save juice. Also it turns itself off when my car is below 50 miles of range.
Drain will also happen in colder temps.
