I was just called by my service center and informed that there are about fifty trucks ahead of me, not mentioning the exact number here, but I should be ready by the end of this month. No update on when the wheel covers will be available though.

LOL. Their service manual needs to say "M12" for the caulking gun. I was about to say, how much urethane they putting on that windshield if using an M18 pookie squirter. But, at least we know they issue quality tools to their techs.

Side note, I also like how their manual shows the elusive factory cross bars as well.

Very interested if the location of the light bar will help deflect more wind up and over my first roof rack I installed from MARS. Not bad wind noise with the 3 bars and 2 side bars I installed but can hear a bit of wind at 40+mph from the first one above cab. This may help a lot, but then it could cause it's own noise. Hmmmm. Either way, it will be much less noise than putting a typical 50" bar on the first rack.

I just read the entire process and I am not doing that...no way am I, as an amateur, going to tear all those components apart and hope that I can get it all back together, again...that is insane. Hang on, there may be a light bar available for resale at a very, very low price.

I will never entertain purchasing the Tesla LED light bar.

The install procedure is very unusual in the automobile world. Mounting an off-road LED light bar permanently to the windshield with adhesive is unheard of.

Urethane with zero mechanical fasteners may lead to issues if the borosilicate infused windshield needs replacement in the future.

Roger that, and I don't off-road, unless I need to get out into a pasture and move a trailer for the horses...the main reason it resonated with me is/was it just looks so dang cool. I am trying not to grow up, but Tesla is NOT helping me with that ambition. Guys, it looks like you may be getting a super deal on this once it arrives.

Very fair point, but I honestly didn’t think it was bad at all, but to be fair I have done countless aftermarket installs, some even causing nerve racking cutting fenders and similar on my brand new vehicles. Besides proper window prep and pulling up trim to properly tuck cable to wire, not too much else to it.

But you are totally correct on waiting a bit to have several variants of aftermarket ones available. The challenge is they need to be true 48v without external or internal 12v step down to run a 12v bar so that means R&D costs for mfg for a still limited amount of trucks on road for those of us that actually want one. Besides TSportline, not sure any others are out there. Maybe in the golf cart world of acc there could be some.

I am so paranoid about damaging Blitzen I had to have a spiked Iced Tea just to install a bed mat...let alone electronic connections. I did manage to power through the installation of Tesla's mud flaps but I think I aged another 10 years in doing so...its tough getting old.

Interesting that you end up with an exposed wire? I'm not sure if I like that. I definitely would like some else to take the plunge and let us know how it turns out.

Would have thought the design could have been better as it Makes it look aftermarket rather than OEM integrated.

The lightbar includes installation at the SC (or so it seems, like the Cybertent and Spare Tire).

The only thing that "you" might have to do is wire the LB to the 48v harness up top?

But that's something any competent shop can do in an hour or so.
