Anyone else claim to have this experience with the steering? I don’t think I believe this guy.

Does anyone believe this? In other words, has anyone else felt this way?
Smells like BS to me, but I’m open to being told otherwise here by genuine owners of a CyberTruck. Sure hasn’t been my experience. In fact, it’s the exact opposite from my experience.

Note, this was in the responses to an online hit-piece article about the CyberTruck reportedly “raising their prices by $20,000” (totally false claim). A link to the article is posted in another thread started by another member. Anyway, it makes me wonder if it’s a phony claim.

P.S. The Cybertruck is the most responsive vehicle I have ever owned, even the wife agrees.

It could be a legit review, after all, there are plenty of cases of people getting dizzy from perfectly fine air just because somebody else said they were dizzy. But my bet is it’s a trolling hit piece.

I’m not a CT owner but I’ve done several CT test drives and have a lot of 3, X, and Y time. And the CT’s steering is SO prime time and so superior that all the other manufacturers are panicking.

The delay in the steering was visible in some Cybertruck reviews I've seen in the past where you can see both the steering wheel and the wheels from the outside of the truck, but it's not noticeable when you drive it (unless you try looking for it by swerving back and forth really fast)

That “delay” is total BS. You have to take it in the context of how far the wheels are rotating with that quick yank of the wheel from stop to stop. Now try the same thing in a conventional car. As you rotate the wheel around in multiple revolutions your time from stop-to-stop will take much longer than the CT’s.

Interesting. Haven’t seen that. But will say driving it versus sitting there is not the same thing. Remember the ratios are different at different speeds. I wonder if that could have something to do with it? I haven’t really noticed a difference sitting there though. First I’ve heard of it. Thanks for the info.
I wonder if that was a review from right after it came out? Anyone else notice it?

I completely agree that a CTs wheels will turn a lot faster than 99% of other cars, but if you quickly turn the steering wheel and it takes time for the actual wheels/tires to get where they should be, then that'll feel like a delay to the driver.

But like I said, it's not noticeable when you're driving it under normal circumstances unless someone is testing the truck out and quickly yanking it back and forth.

I guess to clarify a bit further, the delay that I saw in the review wasn't reported or commented on by the drivers, but it was something I was able to see while watching the video. Might've been on the ThrottleHouse video but I'm not 100% sure.

I still haven't seen anyone complain about any type of delay while driving it until I saw your post, though

My god………… what is this guy talking about???? The steering is one of the most responsive trucks I have ever driven. He probably made himself sick from oversteering at first. The steering learning curve takes a little bit getting used to coming from a vehicle with an old fashioned steering box

  1. Tesla fan boys don't call themselves Tesla fan boys.
  2. Reiterating how critical it is that they are, INDEED, a Tesla fan boy.... Wtf?
  3. Claims are complete BS. There is no human alive that can turn lock to lock on a traditional vehicle as fast as a normie driver, like me, can on the CT steer by wire.
  4. The steering improves control by giving the driver more angular command in an instant. This claim is also BS. Why else do you think they put variable ratio steering in race cars? Because it reduces control?...
  5. I have never experienced any kind of "lag" at all. Been driving the CT as long as anyone out there

By the way, my gut reaction was this guy is a phony. Or at best, lying specifically about the CyberTruck whether he has a Mindel X or not. Just didn’t add up what he said about one of the best features. But after calming down a few minutes, I decided to post the question here as a bit of a sanity check, lol.

(Yeah, calming down. This stuff really irks me. Run into it constantly nowadays. So much of it intentional to try and harm people or organizations.)

Hmm. His experience is the same as mine. I was sick for the 1st couple of days of owning the CT. It’s because it’s too high. Model 3 was my highest ride.

The steering is not linear so it takes time to get used to. Software has improved it. The 4 wheel steering makes the CT shake when turning too so it’s not comfortable.

After a few months now, I am used to it so it’s not a big deal. It’s just not as good as say a Porsche. It’s not supposed to since this is a truck.
