I am curious how
Many people on here have done their own truck and regret it vs who were glad they did.
You may want to post that question in a different forum since there’s a lot more DIY-wrapped AWDs out there.

****ADVICE ON DELIVERY DAY****
Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast waiting room ⏳ PXL_20240827_201007648

Things I should have known and things I wish I knew.

1. Tell your wife, husband, life partner, stranger you met on the way in to take MORE pictures than they normally would. My wife took several pictures... most with me with a scowl. Not because there were any problems but because it was like 100 degrees out and I was trying not to break down giggling like a school girl.

2. TAKE WINDOW CLEANER. The windshield in the picuture above and even in person looked fine. But, by the time we were leaving, the sun played some kind of trick and we could not see out of the windshield. I mean, I got in, fiddled with the screen a little, put it in drive, and then slowly pulled forward until the windshield was in the shade. I couldn't see crap. Outgassing is a thing. Sprayway without ammonia and blue shop towels (fancy paper towels) did the trick. It helps to have really long arms.

3. CHECK THE APP after arrival!!! We checked in, were told to go walk around the truck. We did. Went back in. Another guy said "You can hang out in the lounge. She'll come get you when the paperwork is done."
- Got several notifications from Tesla. App related.
- One was "Review financing" which we did the previous night and the app said "review financing" then also and when we did, it restarted the finance process. Didn't want to do that on delivery day! Loe and behold, eventually, I looked at the financing thing again and opened it carefully to not restart the process and WAAAAAY down at the bottom was an accept button. Did that. Waited some more.
- Went back out to the main room. 'she' was there. "Oh, I thought you were still walking around the truck." Yeah. No. It's a million degrees out there. Maybe check the lounge or look out the frigging window?

4. For all that is holy, tell them politely "DO NOT PUT THAT WHEEL SHINE ON MY CAR BECAUSE I DON'T WANT IT SLUNG ALL OVER THE DAMNED THING!" And I mean All over. Like, all the f*ck over. Everywhere.

5. When you launch in Beast mode for the first time, make damn sure you have a LOT of space to slow the f*ck down! The brakes are deceptively... how do I say it?... laxidasical? Lazy? Weak? Slow to engage? Oh, it's so frigging quick. It isn't like a lot of power coming on and pinning you to the seta. No. I'm pretty sure my spine snapped, my eyes sunk into my skull, and I was thrown back into the seat so far I think I saw the seat frame's part number.

6. We passed a school bus full of middle school kids (and at least one teacher) all crowding the windows and pointing and waving and grinning. Yeah, that made our day. My wife and daughter just grinned and waved back. Traffic kept us near but just behind and to the right of the bus for a while. When we finally passed on the left, the kids all rushed that side of the bus. Too much fun!

7. I'm going to refer back to #2 above. You'll definitely want some kind of wand or magnet thing to clean the windshield because, damn, that thing is DEEP. I'm 6'3" and have been told "You have long ass monkey arms".

NOW, I'd like to throw out some observations that maybe others have pointed out, but these are mine and I'd like to contribute to the collective intelligence.

1. It rides fine but it isn't any more comfortable on the road than my last F-150 or Maverick.
2. I didn't really notice the "great turn radius" and had planned to make it a talking point until this morning when I just whipped it right into a parking space. Man, this thing really can turn.
3. Yesterday, I reached for the turn stalk a few times and thought it would take some time to get used to. Today, I naturally just hit the buttons with my thumb. It is already intuitive. AND, NO, there's no weirdness about hitting the right button when the wheel is turned. I mean, the wheel doesn't turn that much. Plus, I understand how a clock works...
4. The noise from the tires is considerable but nothing compared to the motors. The Cybertruck is, undeniably loud inside. And, just to throw this out there, I don't think tire selection will make much of a difference in sound.
5. The stereo is pretty darn good, and it gets VERY loud.
6. Beast mode makes the throttle response very twitchy. It's almost uncomfortable to use for longer periods of time and definitely in traffic. I haven't launched it in comfort mode but I believe it will be plenty fast in that mode.
7. Seats are comfortable but there is a lot less foot space compared to even my little Maverick. Forget about stretching out your left leg.
8. The frunk is surprisingly shallow. I mean, I've seen lots of pictures and videos and people sitting in there but in person, it's shallow.
9. The Cybertruck plays larger than it is. I've driven large trucks and maybe this observation is just because of my time with my little Maverick but, the Cybertruck just FEELS big. It isn't any larger overall than my F-150 was, but it feels bigger. Hard to explain.
10. FSD or at least lane awareness would be wonderful. I turned on the lane departure warning but, come on. Even my little Ford Maverick had decent hands-free driving and would keep its lane nicely. I am going to miss that little guy.
11. I didn't notice anything missing as far as accessories. All my panels seem fine. The windshield motor base seemed fine (though, techs did take my truck in back to "check one last thing" and the motor base looks awfully new). I'm not sure what else I should have checked. Forgot to try out the wiper. Jeez. I should try that after work today.

Oh, the $2,500 hit my account almost as soon as payment went through. So, now on to QMerit, whose site wouldn't "scan" my panels right. Anyway, more fun ahead.

That's it. Hope it was useful or at least interesting to read. I'll probably hang out in this channel for a bit and then find a Beast room or maybe I'll make one for Beast owners.

Hey, it's a great truck. Worth the wait. Fun to drive. Comfortable. Fast. Bad Ass.

Last thing. Tactical Grey interior is outstanding! So glad I made the switch. Probably nothing wrong with the white but the Grey is awesome! Kind of close to the black but stands out just enough.

I doubt it. I think they're just rolling out Cybertrucks nationwide and spreading the wealth. Texas gets more than its share due to proximity and California seems to get more than most states but 1/8th of the population lives there so that makes a little sense.

But I would hope that if someone on this forum knew where the priorities were aligned, they'd share that info with their Cybertruck brethren.
So to test the “Regional Roll Out” theory and since Tesla now added the CyberTruck to their Military Discount program, I placed another CB order but a SoCal Delivery instead of Alaska. Right now they both say Oct-Dec 2024 ETA.We’ll see which one populates a VIN first and then I’ll amend the registration/ delivery location later.

The problem with that is if it works like mine, you'll get the VIN when your Cybertruck gets to your Tesla Service Center. You can't change the location at that point.

I agree on most of your observations except the noise. The MYP I have is noisier and rougher riding. In comfort/chill mode the CB reminds me of my dads 1960s Impala….where it wallows side to side. But no complaints I like it’s car like features.

Can't speak about the MYP as I haven't been in one. I can only reference accurately about the vehicles I have driven (and those may vary within production). The Cyberbeast is louder than the Model Y LR, Ford Maverick, and even my F-150 though every once in a while the F-150 had a nice deep growl... LOL

Lots of good information, thank you. Enjoy the new ride!
Picking up my beast on Sunday. Can someone recap what all I should get that day?' Also I never heard anything else about PowerShare after doing my survey. Who do I inquire for more info about that? Are most people taking the credit? Is credit for charging or the Tesla store? I don't really have a charger close and will charge almost exclusively at home except for travel and really won't likely take beast on many road trips.
