Modified my gen2 to flat mount with Starmount all in one solution.
But somehow 12v doesn’t work for me. Make the change, by pass 12v to 48v regulator. Use Cybertruck roof feed 48V directly. Works great!

I'm glad to hear this! I was wondering if 48v would be better than 12v... but good idea to smooth it out. Looks good!

After having the power shutoff unexpectedly a couple of times mid-TEAMS meeting in my MX, I got a EGo inverter (I have a few 56V EGo batteries already) to power my Starlink Mini which hangs in a suction cup hung hammock beneath the roof glass). It will take power from either the CT’s USB PD port or 115v outlet and puts out either 115v for the Starlink power adapter or 18v USB without a hiccup if I accidentally exit camping mode. Plus I can take it outside at the campsite if I want to.

Starlink mini in a suction cup net under the glass is slick! Pics please? Links to the suction cup net, please? How do you like to align it?

Smart, you’ve created a UPS using EGo batteries and made it mobile.

How's the head load for that dish when it's in full sunlight on a hot day? I imagine it will overhead easily if you don't have a fan on it.

I guess you could put a fabric mesh net over it to block the sun without messing with the signal too much.

I can align it by adjusting it but it works fine when I don’t bother. I’m on a biz trip without it but here’s some photos of what I got. I cut off the hammock straps and clipped in the suction cups.

this is cool! I have been looking for such a solution and am not sure about using suction caps from inside.

Can you share some more details about what roof rack you used, how did you by pass 12v regulator, etc?

I am likely going to use Starlink mini instead of gen2, to eliminate the need of separate router.

Is it also easy to take it off and put it on? While camping, I would still like the freedom of placing the dish at a better location on the ground while leaving the car under shade.

Yeah, I’m by myself so I don’t worry about interfering with anybody in the back seats. Check out SeaSucker racks. I’d trust them on top.

I've been keeping mine in that big dash. Isn't that what it is for? Makes it a little better protected from vandalism too.

After I got the mini, now I also have room for my hat.

It gets warm but it gets warm in the shade, too. It’s built for such temps.
well, it's designed for hot ambient temperatures, but it's not designed to be enclosed in a glass/plastic casing. I suspect it will quickly overheat in direct sunlight.

Nice to see mods like this. I and multiple others are using the mobile mini version.
The biggest disadvantage being while charging using the included A/C adapter will not power on (charging DC vs AC and which components are on).
