ugh! I used to see this in my Porsche as well, and I hated it. I guess using the wheel cover is the only option! ?
What are these wheel cover things you are alluding to? ;)

I'm not sure how many people have noticed this setting but it is on by default. Basically if the vehicle isn't regenerating for whatever reason it will use breaks to simulate the feeling of regeneration. I've noticed that my regen 'breaking' is inconsistent sometimes and this is probably why.

I have not seen brake deposits on mine as depicted; I use an air compressor gun at 150psi and point to all open areas of the calipers-very little dust debri comes out. To me this red dust results from rust on the rotors after washing ect; or caliper brake linings are binding.

Why the red dust? And only at the rear. My MYP generates dust but not in the aforementioned color.

Not sure why it is the rear for them. I was just pointing out that it will use breaks to simulate the regeneration so breaks are being applied regardless of break pedal usage by default.

Same here; only on left back tire.
The Tesla service rep said it's normal and that the computer occasionally uses one or more brakes to clean up the rotor because the brakes are not used enough and get dirty (I suppose rusty).

I also have issues with excessive (comparatively speaking) on driver rear wheel. So strange that many are having the same issue on only that wheel.

Same here (rear driver wheel)! It was going to service center for other items so I added that to be looked at. When the service rep went to look at truck, he said that was not normal. Don’t know what the fix is for it yet though.

This is Tesla #4. Like all my other cars brake dust only a problem on the truck on only one wheel. I only charge to 80% SOC

A little test. Below are two pictures.
The average viewer will know they are pictures of tires.
The Cybertruck enthusiasts will recognize them as being Cybertruck tires - specifically AT tires
The super astute will notice that one of these tires (and wheels) is covered in reddish-brown brake dust.

MOST mechanics and probably auto enthusiasts will assume that the one with the brake dust is the front tire because ... in my whole life and through 40+ vehicles I've owned, about half new and half old, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM dusted their front wheels but NEVER, EVER, EVER their back wheels. (1965 Mustang and a 1960 Falcon being the 2 exceptions because they had drum brakes all around)

My Cybertruck is the ONLY vehicle I've ever had that gets brake dust all over the rear but none on the front tires.

Is this normal? It doesn't seem normal. I use FSD occasionally, like maybe every other day for 15-20 miles but it's all highway. I have an appointment to get my window switch replaced (plastic switch came right off. It works if I'm really, really careful). I'll definitely ask them at that point about it regardless but wanted to pose the question to you fine folks.

Shout out to @AbstractOcean Yes, the center caps are cool... and well made.

Pictures were taken at the extreme angle so you couldn't see easily which was front or back.

Turn off the Braking in the controls tab, No more Brake dust, saves on pads , use the power of regenerative braking to slow the truck down, if needed, apply brakes manually, should help

There's a thread or two about this issue. Mine do that, too (FS AWD 113xx).
