Has there been any word on when a CCS Tesla Adapter will be made to work with the Cybertruck. Some people have been using the CCS Tesla adapter with an EVeject attached to reach the plug. I recently saw a company I've never heard of called EVbase with a CCS Adapter that's supposed to fit for a cybertruck but I'm skeptical of the company and product. It would be nice to have an adapter just as a safety net and would be nice to see the cybertruck reach those higher charging rates it can handle higher than 250KW.

This is the Cybertruck CCS adapter on EVbase

I am curious if that adapter works without melting. I know there has been discussions on here about the CT not liking CCS adapters.

that's the thing I'm worried about. if it were from a company like Lectron It would make me feel better.

Hopefully there is a good adapter out there or being developed soon to resolve this. I really want a CCS adapter that works correctly to store in the truck. I have the EVeject adapter but really don't want to use it to jerry rig a solution. Also, EVeject has a voluntary recall going on now concerning thermal protection issues. I am getting their updated model sent to me for free.

The solution until Tesla makes a CCS adapter for Cybertruck is EVject.

evject.com is in the process of revamping their current offerings, based on Tesla insisting--rightfully so--that EVject has sufficient thermal management integrated into their adapter.

Lots of info here and X on EVject.

Is there a way to get a hold of an EVject today? Not on amazon, and their website has 1.1 disabled (I agree, they need to fix that to be safe) and 1.2 still in development.

I still question a 500A limit, 250kW at 400V is 625A.
If nominal cell voltage is 3.7 * 96 = 355V * 500A = 178kW.
In 800V mode, 500A supports 250kW.
Yep... your math is right. Its what it can deliver. For locations with no SC, it will do just fine. I will always take a SC over a CCS for just cost alone.

But right now I have no SCs between Moab and Durango without driving out of the way. The CCS makes this palateable.

In my experience 500a is at the max voltage of 1000v so 500kw. At lower voltage it will handle the equivalent kw- but good luck finding a 500kw 400v charger- the wires would be huge! :)

Oh, I don't disagree a CCS adapter is needed. I'm pointing out selection of CCS stations may be important.
A 150kW post is fine as is a 250kW 800V one.

Pack kW draw is highest at low SOC, that's also when pack voltage is lowest.
Cybertruck pulls 250kW when the pack is sub 400V, which means current > 625A, and heating only cares about current.
The built in temp sensors may self protect/regulate, but that requires it to have already hit the thermal limits.
