Yep. I charge to 60%, and I've noticed it will lose 1 - 2% while still plugged in, and it won't replace that charge if I leave it plugged in overnight. So sometimes I start driving with 59% or 58%. I wonder what's going on. My MY doesn't do that and I leave it at 80%.

Once it drops enough, it'll kick charging off again. In my experience, that's about a 3% drop. It does not hold charge at your charge limit.

It has to drop a few percent for the charger to kick on again.

I suspect it makes the battery last longer to not constantly do small top-offs.

If this is a problem for anyone, I suggest they set the charge limit a percent or two above what they actually need, to compensate for the fact that the charging doesn't kick back on until it declines ~3%.

I just got back from a 32 Day vacation and the truck lost just 15% in that time.

105k on an old model 3 that did this. I didn’t notice it when it was new but over time the behavior crept in but cannot say whether it was BMS or charging logic or age. It always seemed to top off at 6 am though and drained the power wall quite a bit as it was already on peak rate schedule

It's easy to see parked at an airport for several days plugged into an L2, with Sentry on. Charge level drains down to 86-87%, then tops back up to 90%.

Ahh ok, this makes sense to me. It’s like my furnace that kicks on only after it drops a couple degrees.

Thanks!

The easiest and probably best for your battery way to make sure you leave at 80% every day is to simply use the "Schedule departure" function. The truck will slowly charge up when it needs to in order to be at 80% and the cabin and batteries optimal temperature for departure. The bonus is that you'll be more efficient during the drive as your truck won't have to warm it up/cool it down while driving at first.

this is consistent with mine too and it's annoying. Being me, I want to start at 80% and not 79 or 78 or 77%. I guess i can set the charger limit to 82%?
It's perplexing why you find this annoying. If you want it to use as little electricity as possible when parked, just turn off all the features that traditional cars don't even have, like Sentry Mode, Cabin Overheat Protection, Phone as Key, etc. Then your Cybertruck will lose less than 0.5% per day. If you drive it daily, you won't even see it. If you don't drive it daily, it will cost you less than $0.06 per day (assuming electricity costs $0.10/kWh. If your electricity is $0.20/kWh, it will cost less than $0.12/per day.
