False. The cold rolled stainless steel is really hard compared to paint and normal keys barely leave a mark. It can be polished right out as if it never happened, no need to repaint and blend the repainting in.
What ever you say bud ?

You can scratch ‘some’ stainless but this isn’t your regular stainless.
Cool I will send you a photo of a scratch on my tail gate tomorrow
Edit I couldn’t wait and went outside
To take a photo only to remember I wrapped it so you can’t see it lol. To many drinks during the Bama game

I Don't know what the dirtbag used oops.. the upstanding shoe less crackhead.. oops this great outstanding person used ...
its not a matter what the tool it was... a key, a knife, a rock ... the fact is he vandalized my truck with a tool that left lasting effect on me and my truck.
I don't know what it was but it penetrated the stainless steel to scratch my truck... it doesn't rub off as easy as a like a finger print does ( that's funny ) the metal was damaged.
to " Key a car " is to add damage to the surface of ones car / truck ...
the act of one doing that is what we should address not the tool he used...

Those saying a key will not do anything. Go test it for us on your truck and post some pictures. :) I just don’t believe that you can drag a key on the truck and not see anything.
Who said you wouldn't see anything?

Either way, we haven't seen anything because @Feartoy didn't include a picture!

All I was doing was replaying something the Tesla chief engineer said many months ago. I hope it is true. I know that nothing has scratched my truck to date in a way that I have noticed, but I bought a stainless steel truck so that I wouldn’t have to worry about scratches and dents.

Awesome!

Have you tried rubbing it with anything?

-Crissa
Just the good old spit and rub.. ya tried to hand polish it out with mild stuff and the pics are after that effort I think it needs to be sanded and blended in. their is a fine line where it is and the light grabs it. just sucks...

I don’t think that anyone here is doubting you, and I am sure that we would all feel as violated were it done to our trucks. What I am concerned about is the assurance from Tesla that it would be very difficult to scratch this car, so I do wonder what was used. More importantly, to some degree, at least for you, is the police apprehending this person and prosecuting the crime.
