IMO the side wall looks 100 times better than the ATs. Way beefier. Had they been an option I probably would have stuck with my stock rims and these longer then I did with the ATs.

I don’t understand this post. What does he mean by first real like look? (These look like factory pictures and information..besides the initial photo.) Who is Dufly? Ha

Could someone who is more knowledgeable than I am do a quick summary in comparing these with the stock OEM AT tires?
The OEM AT tires have relatively shallow tread depth and minimal snow siping. The tire and compound is biased in design for dry traction performance,
, low rolling resistance. At the expense of tire life, wet and snow performance. The tire is part of the reason the beast can pull of a 2.6 0-60 on “AT” tires.

The Duratrac tires is designed for mud, snow and more off-road performance. It has more snow siping to help with winter traction. At the expense of noise, dry traction, cornering performance.

Neither is a dedicated winter tire, which maximizes snow and ice performance at the expense of every other metric.

If you do nothing but highway driving and city commuting. Get the Scorpian AS tire. If you need to do some light off-roading, hunting on logging roads, or just like the look, get the AT tires. If you live in a snow state, know what it means by “mud-season”, and live or regularly drive on barely improved gravel roads, get the Duratracs (which will work year round).

And if you live in a mountainous snow state, Northern Midwest/ Canada. Probably go for a dedicated winter tire. And one of the others for the other seasons.

I mostly agree with everything you wrote. With more experience on the Duratrac Tires I can say the OEM AT tires are better on all hard surfaces, wet or dry, with the exception of ice, wet leaves, and puddled water (which isn't really a hard surface). The OEMs are also surprisingly better on cold, wet roads, at least down to 38 degrees F.

The DuraTracs are mostly better on soft surfaces, with the exception of loose gravel and almost certainly deep dry sand where the OEM AT tires will outperform.

The efficiency hit has shown up with an obviousness that is impossible to not see. I didn't see it at first because I believe on my highway drive home from the install, the trip computer hadn't recalibrated for the smaller diameter (so it thought I was covering more ground per kWh than I actually was). At some point it must have recalibrated, and the miles/kWh dropped rather precipitously. It's too soon for me to accurately quantify it, a wild ass guess would be 10%.
