Have you seen the grey interior in person? It looks really cheap against the black trim vs the white.
I've seen the gray interior and I love it. It makes it look very serious and conservative, I think very in sync with the serious stainless steel exterior. I can live with the trendy impractical white but I know that over a few years I will be increasingly wishing it were the gray.

Pretty sure the CT is going to now become more of a niche product, more than the S/X even. Demand should be way lower than what they can produce. It just looks way too different to capture interest from the majority of legacy truck buying market, period. Common sense tells you that demand has probably halted, some will pick it up for cheaper now with less options, but most won't.

The 340 was estimated, so is this.

Not sure if this means the EPA did an actual test themselves or not, but they changed it.
IDK if this applies to anyone else, but my range using FSD is much better than my own driving.

The demand is insane? There's 15 of them lined up here in NY. They sent me an email stating that if I don't pick it up by Saturday they were taking my deposit. That's customer service?
Those 15 aren't lined up for people to walk in a buy on the spot.

Also, do you expect Tesla to sit on your assigned truck forever? Your post is very confusing to me

I wonder what the conversion rate will be without the healthy $7500 federal tax credit. $80k + options + sales tax + registration fees is well beyond the reach of most Americans.

if my name comes up for the $79,990 version I will sit on the order until the tax credit becomes available. I believe Tesla can‘t offer the tax credit right now due sourcing of battery components and materials.
Tesla is not the one doling out the tax credits, that is up to the government and Elon has been recorded on video, stating that Tesla wishes they would drop the subsidy as other manufacturers have to pay Tesla due to them not meeting certain numbers in manufacturing.
So really the subsidies help other manufacturers save a small amount or better PM which Tesla does not need assistance in that department.

I very much need a truck, but having been a Tesla owner and early adopter I am disappointed that what was claimed didn't happen. Elon often misses dates but rarely misses specs. There no reason Tesla, who dominated the tech of EV, should have missed so badly on one of the most largely claimed features of 500 mile range. I'm a huge fan but I'm a buyer at my originally estimated preorder price of $69k for trimotor. I was never interested in founders edition. I preordered the package as advertised, and I'm willing to wait till it's there. I'm no mall crawler...we own a farm and I need at least a round trip tow of 200 miles, functional two way power backup and for sure the $7500 rebate. I am pretty confident the prices will be much better in a year or so if not I'll keep our oil burner and order an optimus
With having your farm more likely as a business, then why not talk with your tax advisor/preparer and option the vehicle at purchase as business expense under section 179? I believe you can even write off a major portion the first year or opt to spread it out over the next 5-7 years as business deductions.

Not a tax advice or advisor myself but be sure to check it out.

Just rub it every day until it gets that nice gray patina and never wipe it clean. No fuss no mess and eventually get what you want over time. ?

I think Tesla missed a differentiation opportunity with the Cybertruck. They could have done something to tell the trim levels apart from each other.

A $79,990 AWD Cybertruck will look exactly the same as a $120,000 CyberBeast Foundation Series truck minus the subtle FS badging on the fenders and tailgate.

You just know that lower trim owners are going to slap on aftermarket Foundation Series badges just like owners who slap M badges on non M BMW’s.

I looked it up and as long as I get the pain version no upgrades, I get it. My final cost $82,135. with tax $ 86,935 add in the tax credit and final is $ 79,435.
Get what? The Cybertruck isn't eligible for the consumer Clean Vehicle Credit and the Commercial Credit doesn't have an MSRP limit...

Some CyberBeast owners.
I will put that crappy looking spoiler that someone posted a few days ago to differentiate my Beast. The closer to stealth bomber concept the better.

I just returned from a Cybertruck test drive at my local Tesla store. I was blown away by the SBW and RWS systems. It must be experienced in person. It’s a game changer for full size pickup truck‘s.

The $79,900 AWD trim is worth every penny of the selling price. It’s a an absolute steal if the $7500 tax credit ever gets applied.

You still get the heated and ventilated seats, killer sound system, locking differentials, etc. Apparently Tesla did not de-content the non FS trims like many predicted.
Be careful: a test drive makes waiting on ownership very, very difficult!

I concur with everything you said.
