Absolutely worth waiting for those that can’t stand self driving. I had the trial on my S and Y I had to turn self driving off it was so frustrating. Reading speed limits wrong, slowing down when I didn’t want too, changing lanes when I didn’t want too. It was horrific, my wife said the same thing. Based on this forum most prefer gray interior, myself included. I’m not paying $3500 for Tesla wheels either I can get much nicer aftermarket for a little more. Foundation folks got a great truck and shouldn’t be upset, but on the flip side it was worth waiting for many.

I cancelled my reservations I’ll wait until next year pay off my S longer too.
Wheels/tires should not be an issue, I picked these Cyber/ATs with 200 miles for 1,400$; they are in like new condition .

Absolutely. The wait was worth it. FSD is cool. I can subscribe to it when I have to go on a long drive. I enjoy driving so can't imagine my car driving my everytime.

I can see these sets of tires going up in price now. Tesla is charging $3500 for them. Im sure the market will adjust higher. Get them while you can on the cheap!

...So really the subsidies help other manufacturers save a small amount or better PM which Tesla does not need assistance in that department.
Disagree.

I purchased both my 10/2018 Model 3 LR and 9/2023 Model Y LR due to $12,500 tax credits. Otherwise I would have kept my ICEmobile in 2018 and likely still be driving it.

Many people I know state that available tax credits --> lower cost of ownership = purchase Tesla.

Yes, Tesla is generating profit on vehicle sales, unlike Ford, GM, Rivian, Lucid. But regardless of profit, tax incentives are a significant factor in generating sales.

Disagree, watch Elons interview on the subject, I think you’ll find he certainly detailed that Tesla does not need it.

I never said consumers however don’t require or need it to meet budget constraints.

personally, I’m in the Elon camp of thought, but save my money on not paying interest over a lifetime of a loan by paying cash for my Teslas.

Let me tell you how the game being played. For the cost/function/cleanibility, grey and white are no difference, just the personal preference, the white itself has no more value than grey. Ok, that is the secret killing point, who doesn't care to spend $2K to change to ( i don't even want to use word upgrade) white?

people don't care about the money.

Over the time, majority of CT would be grey, by then white would become rare, and holding a rare means the social stature, itself now has the value.

If you have any questions about this, ask your wife about LV or channel, you can buy same function bags in Walmart.
White materials across industries are harder and mor resource heavy to produce.

It seems like PowerShare is an included feature. To me this is a very important “insurance policy” against unexpected grid failure. I was thinking it would be an add on software feature, like FSD.
Am I understanding this correctly?
Truck supports Powershare by default, but you need house side equipment to take full advantage (11.5 kW vs 9.6 kW from 14-50 outlet). Either Powershare Gateway + UWC or Wall Connector and Powerwalls (plus future software update).
Good summary.

My expanded one as I'm keeping track for our next house coming up ... and I'm in Western NC.

I'm in the process of ordering the non FS Cybertruck. This is my first Tesla. Any tips on which accessories I'll need or should be adding to my order? It's unclear to me if any charger at all is included or if we need to actually be ordering the universal 240 volt wall charger.

Tips?

Have you seen the grey interior in person? It looks really cheap against the black trim vs the white.
I prefer Tactical Gray. I waited 30 - 45 to get it. I like it better than the White. I think the white would look better with White seats.

Simultaneously excited and disappointed. Fully expected the tax credit. Initially I thought the strategy for Tesla was to get the CT sub $80k for the credit, so then the consumer would have an extra $7,500 for the extended battery that came separately; allowing it to compete with the GM twins on the range department. That seemed like a smart deal.

Now I'm seeing Silverado EV RST's for sale at $85k. In other words, for $5k more I can get 100 miles of extra range, and a more spacious truck. I've got three kids, so I can easily squeeze the three car seats in the SER, whereas it would be a squeeze in the CT.

I like Tesla, the tech and infrastructure that comes with it, and Elon. I'm just not sure I'm willing to give up the bargain the SER offers for $5k more.

Regarding the FS price difference. Pretty much everything on the extra's list seems extremely optional. Unless you were opting to fully spec, there's serious savings by waiting. Further, many of us fully expected the CT to fall within the tax credit guidelines; especially how they priced it at $79.9k.

I think Tesla missed a differentiation opportunity with the Cybertruck. They could have done something to tell the trim levels apart from each other.

A $79,990 AWD Cybertruck will look exactly the same as a $120,000 CyberBeast Foundation Series truck minus the subtle FS badging on the fenders and tailgate.

You just know that lower trim owners are going to slap on aftermarket Foundation Series badges just like owners who slap M badges on non M BMW’s.

IMG_0342.jpeg
Nah they won't. If anything a FS badge means it's an early build with more issues.

Who’s the lucky schmuck who get the last foundation series off the line? $20k up charge to get their truck one day before the dude that paid $80k
The FS is still available for people who never had a reservation and wanted to have a Cybertruck right away. The guy who picks up the FS just before the non-FS is shipped definitely belongs to this group. He would have to wait months, or more than one year, to get a non-FS truck.
