Got my VIN this morning! Timeline:
•Reservation #: RN11293XXXX
•Got non-FS email: 10/4/24
•Converted Reservation to order on 10/6/24 (evening)
•I went with AWD all basic options; no FSD.
•Got my VIN on 10/9/24 (morning)
Looks like they are over 40,000 trucks produced. Last 6 digits of my VIN are: 0418XX.

The VIN doesn't match up with production. It's been about 7-8k ahead of production according to the recalls. Not sure if these were scrapped or test mules.

Just to add another data point for everyone, I ordered my non-FS on Friday 10/4. Stock as it comes, no FSD (due to not getting the 7500 tax credit). Got VIN the same day. Messaged them yesterday and they said my truck would arrive in Indianapolis (I'm in southern IN) on the 15th and delivery would follow "within that next week."

Can anyone provide context for me on what that last part means? Is delivery typically within a couple days of it arriving at the SC or by within that next week do they mean that next Monday and onward?

Read it this way:
Get all your ducks in a row. Have financing ready, have insurance ready and know where to call to get the updated policy, which is generally required before purchase.
Expect to get message with a delivery date sometime after the 15th. So be ready to respond to whatever date and time they give you.

Tax credit applies if you make less than $150k a year or $300k as a couple. If you make less than $150k a year and buy a $100k car, you prob got other problems than saving $7500.

Honestly I was trying to figure out how anyone buying one of the foundation edition qualifies for the tax credit. My wife and I don't.

Method 1:
Buy a foreclosed house in 2009
No kids at home or in college
Have no other debt beyond mortgage
Result: fixed expenses less than $25k/year
Finance the truck

Alternative 2: Have assets in Roth, IRA, or such and be fully or semi retired with income based on expenses. Qualify based on 2023 income, pull funds and buy with cash in 2024 (may still be under the cap).

Alternative 3: Have a lot of post tax savings

I ordered the bare bones model $79990.No FSD. Put order in on Friday, received my VIN Monday, Delivery set up for Friday. They even told me that my CT was in transit today to the gallery.
Can't wait to pick it up.

Exactly what I'm waiting for.
Bare bones. If I don't like the tires, I just change the tires. I like the core will.

It can vary anywhere between tomorrow and a week. And then it can get delayed at the last minute for weeks.

Generally, expect a few days after notification.

But all sorts of things can happen. Quite a few folks got held up in either of the two delivery holds that lasted a few weeks.
Some folks have been waiting at the Delivery Center and when they went to bring their truck out, there were issues that delayed delivery or required reassignment.

Probably 90% in a few days. But don't count on it.
