Stupid question and not sure if already answered but can you turn it on whenever and wherever or do you have to be in offroad mode?

...my CB is patiently waiting for its lighter...can't complain bc my 9/18 delivery came with aero caps.

I get my CT CB back tomorrow from Tesla Service with the Lightbar installed. They kept it for a week and gave me a Model Y LR as a loaner in the meantime.

I got my truck back from Tesla about an hour ago, and my lightbar is installed. Much to my surprise, the lightbar is fully connected and functional. This could be a Florida thing.

Q&A:

Q: Is the lightbar visible from inside the truck?
A: Absolutely, not visible.

Q: Did you have to do anything else to make it work other than press Lights->Light Bar->Both, Ditch Lights, or Flood Lights?
A: No

Q: Can you detect or perceive any difference in wind-related noise while driving at 75 MPH?
A: None. I was interested in this because I would have been disappointed if it introduced wind-related noise.

Q: How long did Tesla Service keep your Cybertruck to install the Light Bar?
A: Mine was in for service (first time) with about five items to check and fix, including installing the Light Bar, so they had it for six days.

Q: What is the output when you slide the slider to 0% after activating the Flood Lights, Ditch Lights, or Both?
A: The lights go out entirely.

Q: What is the difference between Flood Lights and Ditch Lights?
A: When Flood Lights are activated, only the forward-facing LEDs illuminate. When Ditch Lights are activated, only the LEDs at about a 45-degree angle illuminate.

Q: Were any instructions or notices left inside the truck or posted via the Tesla app?
A: No

Q: Overall, how does it look?
A: Exactly the right size, fully integrated into the design (consistent with design), brighter than expected.

Q: Would you recommend others install theirs on their Foundation Series Cybertrucks?
A: Yes, if nothing else, it looks fantastic.

Q: Your windshield looks a little dark. Why is that?
A: The photos below are my CB, and I had the front windshield, quarter windows, driver and passenger front side windows professionally tinted with Llumar IRX 50 about two weeks ago and love it.

The photos were taken less than one hour after pick up today. After it gets dark, I'll post several more photos with night shots.

I took one video to show or try to show just how bright these lights are.

Does it make any noise when going at high speed on the highway? Is there any downside whatsoever to the lightbar?

So Tesla doesn't go through this process, correct? This is what we will need to do ourselves or engage a 3rd party installer to do, right? Excited to get the lightbar but this seems like it is going to be an involved process that will take some effort to sort.

The newly updated version of the Service Manual lightbar installation instructions has the technician disconnect the roof power connector behind the B pillar and then solder the wires.
If done this way, it's easier to enable.

No Noise. I drove on the Interstate at 75 mph and could not detect any noise from the Lightbar. In my opinion, there are no downsides with the Light Bar installed that I know of at this time.

Thank you. That was my only concern. The lightbar rocks and it kills so good on the CT… would love to see some pics with the lightbar at 1% , 5% and 10% at twilight time, just before sunset… is a different looking CT I bet!

I'll take some and post them here. One thing is for sure: even though 1% is very low when viewing off-center, it is still too bright to drive with it on (on public roads) at 1% because when you look directly at the LEDs in the center, they are blinding. It's incredibly bright at 100%, and I can only blink my eyes when looking at them on the centerline at 100% because it is too much.

Mine was installed just two hours ago by Tesla Service and is totally functional without any effort on my part. YMMV, depending on which state you live in.

Wow… so not even the 1% is low enough to use the lightbar as fun light accent, huh? I noticed the CT headlights are very bright when you look at them front on
