Haha. Its ok OP. Very easy to take off, adjust correctly. If you want to make it easy to separate the two parts, wear gloves because new ones are a little tight. Once separated, the ring part goes on first. And then the actual cover, you pop the middle in first. When middle of the actual cover is on, you can still rotate it slowly to match it exactly to the tire. Then hit each part of the aero cover "fingers" to pop them in securely.

Obviously, each wheel cover is specific to that tire. So if you want to swap it all around, you have to redo this process. Which is not hard. But if you keep track of which tire it is "set" to. You can remove and put it back and it will be aligned.

Those people are complete idiots. I swear. It's even on the truck's manual which tell you to match the tires. It's crazy how people think this is hard.

What color wrap do you have OP?

Some part of me thinks they’re guys all know how hard it is to complain about them or get ahold of anyone so they do what ever they want knowing they won’t get in trouble. Did they take the guys from the computers inside and put them to work on the cars outside ? Jesus
Easy there hombre. I use a computer daily and am more practical than some wrench monkeys. Competency is hard to find these days regardless of discipline.

I sit on my ass all day putting people to sleep and I was able to figure this out in 5 minutes with my soft, clean hands.

So I put in a service order to have Tesla Service to bring out and install my wheel covers. The service was quick but when the tech had finished I went out to look at it and the covers don't line up with the tire inlays. The tech said the only way to fix this is to make another service appointment and have them realign the tire on the actual mag itself and then have them put the covers on. I love my truck but I'm not impressed with the look... it looks pretty tacky.

Word of advice, If they want to roll a tech out instead of doing it in the service center, ask politely to have it done there instead. Chances are your tires aren't aligned with the wheel correctly either.

Mongo Replied to this below and set me straight. Basically the tech doesn't know wtf he's talking about or doing.

Oh wtf...I am sure the guy who did that asked for a raise...

Pretty sad story. I’m going to go on a rant if I don’t watch myself, so I’ll keep it short. This is something that should have been taught to the service tech on day one. Like someone above said. It gives me a really bad feeling that the guy/gal didn’t know how to handle this. Not someone I want installing my windshield wiper or light bar, something that could be part of safety. Terrible, and terrible bosses.

Completely agree. For something so simple and easy. You wonder how they do with more difficult issues.

They love this stuff over here:

And apparently did not read the first reply, with a video showing how they are meant to be installed so they can always very easily be aligned... I'd be sure to talk to that techs boss...
