I also saw this but was afraid to advance on my Tesla trade in without seeing fsd transfer option on initial type of trade in screen. I don't want to delay my order somehow. If someone tries, let us know how it works.

Same. I have not seen anything official either about this. Everybody is going off of that one Sawyer guy's Tweet and writing a ton of articles about it. Must be a slow news day.

If it is true, I'd order now in hopes of getting it by the end of the year to transfer FSD.

The original email that went out regarding transferring, and the eligibility section did have language specially excluding Cybertruck and Leased vehicles. So, in this case it appears to be the absence of language doing the talking.

Actually there was always absence of language. The only place I saw Cybertruck was excluded was in my Tesla app. I received an in-app message on Oct 11 that said Cybertruck was excluded.

But the FSD Transfer page always had an absence of language as to which vehicles qualified.

as far as an email goes, I never received an email. Again for me it was an in-app message.

I think the only "price cut" would potentially be the RWD. The CT is still expensive to make. It's pretty early to do a price cut on it.

as long as it’s been confirmed as part of your deal and you take delivery before the cut off Tesla will transfer FSD from your old car to your new car once you accept delivery of the new vehicle. I’ve done it twice.

Whether you’re trading the old car, or selling it privately, or keeping it, they just hit a switch and strip it of FSD and move it over to your new one. It’s very seemless.

Is it a taxing process to transfer fsd?

By taxing, I’’m assuming you mean “arduous” not whether it’s a taxable (pay ‘the man’) occurrence. So, given that no it’s very simple and it’s done in the app if you’re doing it upfront and you meet the eligibility requirements I think it asks you if you’re going to transfer FSD just like it asks you if you are going to trade a car.

If you’ve already passed those steps on the app then I’m not sure what happens if you become eligible for FSD trade mid-deal. But I do know because of an unrelated problem that we had with my wife’s recent purchase that they can “reset“ the app to allow you to make some adjustments. So, presumably adding FSD transfer is one of those.

If you don’t see the option to transfer it then my advice would be to get a hold of a Sales Advisor/Rep via the app, email, or phone (my preferred method). Worst case scenario, you can certainly go to your nearest SC and someone will help you.

I am buying a CB next spring, after we close on our new house. If they locked in the one time FSD transfer, I would add FSD to my 22 YP today. I may or may not transfer it, depending if I keep the car for the robotaxi network. But I would love to have the option, as I know I want FSD on my CB.

Yea I wish this was just standard business practice. I wish FSD would just be part of your account and maybe allow you to change it once per year or something.
