Shattered Side Window Glass Disappointment and $350 Replacement Cost

Survey says the advertised "strength" of the CT glass is false. My passenger side window spider shattered from a rock being shot at it by the landscaper's mower as he ran over it. I'm pretty disappointed, given the representations made about this glass. It's WTF-sticker worthy.

Also, Tesla is charging me $350 for the repair. I'm about to raise holy hell and tell them it should be covered by the warranty, as it was clearly weaker than hail and a 70mph baseball ?

Not sure if this is a serious post? That is a crack, not shattered glass.

Also, some physics, a baseball at 70mph will likely do less damage than a smaller and harder object like a rock traveling at a lower velocity.

The window nevertheless has to be replaced.

So, serious, lol.

yeah, Tesla is not going to guarantee the windows will not be damaged by projectiles(nor should they). The point they are making is that they are safer to the occupants than windows on other vehicles.

Yes and hopefully they will cover it if Tesla won't.

My assumption is damages caused by a round object like a ball are easier to mitigate due to the ball’s round surface whereas a rock may have sharp or pointy corners that makes it easier to crack a window at high speeds.

Resistant is not proof. Reducing the incidence of damage doesn't eliminate it.

It seems to me that the landscaper is responsible before you would be.
