Brilliant idea. Did your truck see the tape lines you placed when you drove close to them and show you a P to select as a parking space?
Yes, you can just about see all of that in the video. You can’t see the P because the truck is over it in the screenshot but the blue box that is visible shows you that it recognized it as a parking spot and it does give you the options you would expect to see just like any other parking scenario.

Oh, a fellow Porsche owner, I have these next to my CT.

Wow, nice collection and setup! I know that there are quite a few Porsche and CT owners(we live in the best of both worlds?!) As I have a one charger setup, I often use the CT to charge the Porsche during peak hours and then charge the CT during off peak, works out great.

So, I got to thinking a couple of weeks ago that if auto park is just using the cameras to see lines on the ground, then, I should be able to create “parking stalls” in my garage and have my cars auto park.
You should have used blue tape, then you would have handicapped parking

I do this now with my ModelY.. very handy and useful.
I calculate my CyberTruck will be an even tighter fit in my small garage so this will be even more important.
Nice pics and write-up

Maybe try GAFFERS tape? It's cheaper than the tape you bought (although still not really cheap):

Comes in just about any width (3" is common for DJs and stage tape downs) and various colors (like white even!).

I already have some and I think I will try it out for our driveway... Make 2 parking 'spots' to see if it will work...
(now where the heck is that box of tape at... This roll only has about 10 feet left on it... hmmm....)

Surely, I can’t be the only one to have had the idea. It took a while to reorganize/clean the garage out a bit and get some white gaffer’s tape in before I could rough out a test stall and give it a go. Welp, the tape showed up today.

Even with only one stall roughed out, both my S and the CB recognized two available spaces and both parked in both spots flawlessly. With or without the other spot being occupied.

Game changer!

My wife literally shed a tear knowing that she’s never going to have to struggle backing into the garage to be on her side ever again. Last year she ran into my vet with her model Y in the driveway. She said I’m a genius and I’m not gonna try to convince her that she’s wrong. ?

My cars will be perfectly parked with the exact right amount of space between them and the side walls of our garage from now on!

Why the hell would I buy cars that can’t do this?

This is gaffer’s tape. The other tape is for my permanent installation, it is the exact same type of tape that’s used in parking lots.

GROK:
What is the width of a parking lot stripe?

Answer
The width of a parking lot stripe, or parking space line, typically ranges from 4 to 6 inches (about 10 to 15 centimeters).

That honestly shocked me! I would never have guessed "4 to 6 inches".

Google up: Sand Volleyball Boundary Lines

1730489320639-cr.webp
I did go ahead and look these up and my only concern is that it doesn’t look like they will be wide enough. They all seem to be 2 inches wide and 2 inches won’t get the job done (twss) for the car to recognize it as parking stall markings. It seems like it’s got to be 4 inches or very close to that minimum.

https://www.parksun.com/Volleyball/Accessories/outdoor-volleyball-boundaries.html

So, what if you could stake some of these down?

https://a.co/d/aLUd8R2

And, if that yellow strip in the center isn’t wide enough: 1) There are versions where it’s wider:

https://a.co/d/4zOVq4O

and, 2) you could just use tape to widen it as necessary.
