I received some middle fingers, and Elon's political entanglement doesn't help.

My worst experience was some stranger peeing on the driver's side door. I exited the bank, walked up to the car and witnessed the situation. Just headed straight to the car wash. I was cool like cucumber.
Well, if he can piss high enough to hit where I grab the door to open, then I leave him alone! But for me, it's stainless steel I'm not going to be triggered by that.

Is it illegal to piss on another's property right? Like spitting. It's a form of assault? Can you shoot?

We all know why the CT gets hate we just can’t say it because ā€œit’s against the rulesā€ hard to have a truthful convo about it that way. I notice ALLOT in Colorado. The puzzle pieces fit !
Not sure Colorado sees the hate more. In my neighborhood there are 2 or 3 almost on the same street and when the tonneau trim was flying off I saw another one in town with missing trim. I just think you have more people on drugs and as a result probably a higher probability of encountering brain damaged people.

Usually kids (ie not brain damaged) have the most natural reactions…

I would imagine it depends on where in Colorado ? Boulder and Denver voted HEAVILY against Elons views
Mods that isn’t political opinion thats a fact. I’m sure you will get your standard I can’t afford it or like change haterz but I’m going to say plenty of people these days are giving the finger based on political side. I don’t get much hate in Los Angeles even though it was a mostly (not Elon state). My persona opinion on that is every other car is a Tesla here and many before he supported a candidate so they really can’t flip me off while driving one. It sounds really stupid but that’s what we are dealing with these days. stupid

The irony is that the nutty haters aren’t white liberals that voted left. They’re usually crackheads or diesel bros so that’s a much safer way to rationalize it so you don’t get yourself in trouble. There’s no benefit to getting worked up over what a crackhead is getting worked up over. That’s a losing proposition. If you go to Texas you’ll find that a majority of Tesla owners are minorities that probably don’t lean left. In Colorado it’s more of the white liberal crowd so there’s that privilege at work but I don’t think they’re the haters. I got a lot less attention in Colorado than Texas even when I was one of the first CTs on the road there but there is certainly a liberal bias because it’s ā€œnot priced like a Subaruā€ or whatever. In Texas people would go out of their way to throw a thumbs up and I’ve had everyone from young black dudes to King of the Hill types gushing over it. So I think the haters are disproportionately represented online just given the amount of positive interaction I’ve had with random people between TX, NM, CO, and UT. There’s also a manifestation of status anxiety at play and that really comes with any vehicle but CT is almost the perfect symbol of a certain class that has ā€œwonā€ while the rest have been ā€œleft behindā€ and there’s a natural human impulse associated with trying to prove your value when confronted with that reality, especially when taking into account economic circumstances of the last 4 years.

Just another reason why everything’s better in Texas ?

Oh no I hate it there. It’s basically communist China all around. So weird as a dystopian polar opposite to California. If California is actual China Texas is like some alternative China that leans into a different ideology but still practices the same things. You can only truly understand it if you grow up there and leave and come back.

I’ve only visited Nashville and Austin and loved them both and the people but I’m sure people who visit LA feel the same in a short period so I get it

Exactly! People who have actual hate for Elon or Tesla are the kind of people you don't want in your life.
The two aren't inextricably linked. There are plenty on this forum who have no love for one, but plenty of love for the other.

Haters going to hate! I don’t give a rats ass about Elon’s politics. Tesla hit the ball out of the park with the CT. I love Tesla so much I just traded my Y in for a X which I pick up on Friday. Someone please tell Elon to automate the CT doors like the X!
Have you experienced anything like this yet? I too have gotten aggressive reactions but also sort of feel the same way you feel. But when they are swerving at you on the freeway it’s another level. I’ve gotten middle fingers and thumb downs signs but the last driver (with another guy in the passenger side) flipped me off as I was pulling out of Tractor Supply then caught up with me at the light. Flipped me off again and they looked like they were about to do something so I sped off (luckily the light just turned green). I will post the video. I did absolutely nothing. Did not acknowledge them. Did not react. So bizarre.

I’ve had zero instances of anything the last 6 months. The birds all came from truck drivers for me but that all stopped. Swerving at the truck stopped too. I did 3,000 miles in road trips the last couple months.

Don’t shoot someone for pissing/spitting on the truck… that’ll land you prison. Good rule of thumb: if you have to ask the question ā€œcan I shoot?ā€ The answer is no. You’ll know if you CAN shoot when you NEED to shoot.
