I love watching the TFL reviews and they just posted their long term update.

I think it is a fair review. I need to watch their CT offroad vids again.

These guys will never give a fair assessment for Cybertruck. I couldn’t watch beyond 3 mins of the review. He reviews the bed. Doesn’t mention the pros - no wheel wells, vaulted storage, 2500 lbs payload, electric outlets, L-tracks, adjustable suspension, but instead he calls out angular shape, no spare tire, unable to reach with 6’3” height. Seriously!! Such a negative perspective. Whatever he is calling out might be true, but it’s just his priorities. Every pickup truck owner doesn’t need perfectly rectangular shaped bed or spare tire or access from all four sides. SMH!

I hear where you are coming from, but this is just a summary at the end listing the biggest negatives and positives they see. Their off-road videos of the CT are spot on as well as their hauling test.

There are a few arguable comments, but on the whole - from outside the Tesla bubble and from the perspective of someone coming from a traditional pickup, I think it is fair.

I liked their FSD off road vid - I didn't think FSD would do much on side/off road but did pretty well with some issues.

I'm ok with getting things wrong, they are not experts on every vehicle. They make the effort to correct themselves too.

It's not that TFL didn't know about the Cybertruck, it's that they were purposefully ignorant and negative.

For those of you who don't know, The Fast Lane guys have been pretending to be unbiased for years while simultaneously creating negative perceptions of Tesla ownership. They obviously have ties to legacy auto interests who they are doing their best to represent while trying to maintain the appearance of being honest and unbiased, at least amongst the the least aware of us.

I will point you back to the release of the Model 3, Tesla's first mass-market car. TFL guy bought one and then had his son back it into a concrete brick wall "accidently". The son is terrible actor and anyone with an ounce of observational skills could see he damaged it on purpose, while feigning "ooops". The goal was to show how expensive and difficult they were to repair, and a whole series of YouTube videos followed using the third-party autobody shop (who they were obviously vhery friendly with) to do the repairs. One screw-up after another, parts mis-ordering, delays and waits, high labor charges, etc.

These guys are the enemy of the truth, they try to get the ear of the EV curious and then dash their dreams of ownership. Consumer Reports does that too. Most of mainstream media does it, but it never hurts to call out the most egregious examples.

Don't be blind to reality, It's by design!

He reviews the bed. Doesn’t mention the pros - no wheel wells
Minor point here, but no wheel wells is not a pro? Its simply less space. The specs on bed sizes are the minimums, so the inside of the wheel wells is what is provided for the width. Its not a lot of extra space, but you can fit gas cans, coolers, toolboxes in front and behind the wheel wells. The F150 and Cybertruck bed widths are 0.4" apart based on the stats I can find. They all aim to fit 8x4 plywood with tailgate down if needed.

The short time that I had a maverick, being able to put stuff underneath drywall sheets was a plus. The maverick also had a built-in spot to use a 2x6 as a divider. Hopefully the CT will continue to get updates as the years go by.

I have watch these guys videos on several truck, somethings they do are worth while and some are not. Like most stuff on Youtube, take it with a grain of salt. They are giving Strick opinions and they do provide information for you to make your own opinion. So you don't like them, well there is always *cough* Car and Driver TV.....lol

I stopped watching once he mentioned that when they bought it did not have Diff Locks…

drama for the sake of drama is not for me..

If it’s not an issue anymore, Why point it out?

If you kept watching they show how Tesla improved it afterwards, and how well it did in tough offroad. They even said no one does updates and the app better than Tesla.

Its like you stopped watching Lord of the Rings after Boromir died and never saw the whole story.

I've been using the Cybertruck to haul a lot of different things and have found that the lack of wheel wells is actually a big advantage (even if the pockets around the wheel wells of my F-150 create more space). It just makes loading and unloading easier.

For example, each fall/spring I need to clean up the yard, prune the fruit trees, etc. Previous to the Cybertruck, I would fill the bed of my F-150 with branches and trimmings, blackberry brambles, etc. By the time I arrived at the local composting company to dump the stuff off, I was sweaty and tired. I just wanted to get all the branches out of the truck. If I had loaded them carefully, and had a little luck, I could just grab a handfull of the lower branches and yard them all out of the truck at once. Then it was a just a matter of sweeping out the remaining debris.

But sometimes the load was too big, it would get hung up on the wheel wells, and I would have to climb in the back of the truck and unload it a little bit at a time. The Cybertruck bed has nothing for the lower branches to snag on, the whole wad comes out easily, in one big bundle. And the sweeping out of the fines is a bit quicker and easier, not having to sweep around the wheel wells.

Another example, firewood. I can unload it alot easier when it's not filled in behind the wheel wells. Sure, I could try to leave those areas empty, but wood invariably rattles it's way in there and makes unloading harder than it need to be. In the Cybertruck bed, I can just use my hookaroon while standing at the end of the open tailgate and easily yard it all out because it's a straight shot. The loading is easier too, with the straight walls of the bed to guide large rounds in. Like this:

Same story with loading/unloading lots of cases or boxes, the wheel wells would always mess up the loading pattern. You don't want to leave large voids because then your load will shift while driving. The Cybertruck walls have a slight taper to them which is really well thought out for ease of loading and unloading. A traditional pickup? Not so much.

I like to be productive, and the Cybertruck just makes it easier to get more done, in less time, and with less energy expenditure. The Cybertruck bed is just as large as my F-150, a bit bigger actually, it's taller, a bit narrower and a more uniform shape. The taller bed sides hold the load in and the lack of wheel wells are one less thing to have to work around. Traditional beds are not uniform, it's a very awkward space.

If you are trying to purchase CT or whatever else watching reviews can be helpful, so you can make up your mind. Once you purchased the truck or anything for that matter, reviews no longer matter. Go drive it, use it. Who cares what someone else thinks.
