I've been stranded on the side of the road in a rain storm, on a motorcycle, half way across the country, with a crappy compressor and cheap tire plugs. I keep serious kit on my truck. Once bitten, twice shy and all. hah

Would you just call Tesla roadside and wait? Some times it takes hours if weather is bad...
On a motorcycle ? How did you carry a compressor and plug it in on a motorcycle?
yeah, I would start with Tesla roadside and AAA and who ever shows first. If I blow a tire in the CT with out a spare waiting a hour and catching up on some Netflix 1 time seems like a better pay off then hauling around a big spare tire for the life of my ownership. Just can’t sacrifice my bed space. It’s already a pain when I buy materials

So, the kit had little CO2 tanks and an adapter to air up the tire after patching. They suck. Just wanted to keep it simple and say crappy compressor so everyone would know what I was saying. It was an Energica I covered in storage and added aero, so I could make cross country timed attempts.

Yeah, it's sure more comfortable being in a Tesla waiting for help. I was stuck in my Model 3 in Idaho of all places, over summer. Called insurance for a tow. Two hours later they were still trying to find a provider, I started calling local places myself. Took two more hours for one to come get me.

I'd just rather have all the options for self rescue possible. Small compressor and patch kit under the bed storage and you fix the majority of what will strand you on the side of the road with a flat, in a matter of minutes. Heavy duty tow strap, first aid kit, some other stuff it's always good to have on you live down there. My secret "someone messed up" storage area.

Did you know if all the tires get much below 45 psi the Cybertruck won’t let it be put in drive. Low pressure on the tires show up on the screen and remains there until you inflate the tires back to 50 psi. When trying to inflate them with a little hand held inflator I lost tire pressure and the car locked me out from being put in drive.
How does it drive in off-road mode? People deflate tires all the time.

Probably when you enable off-road mode? Also limits speed, since it knows tires aren't inflated and ready for highway use. Smart.

Well soon they will have the tire repair kit and compressor for $550 and it looks pretty compact. If it’s just a compressor and tire foam it’s def to much to pay

i wasn’t having a lot of luck with my little hand held battery operated tire inflator. Took for ever. This may be over kill but it works great and not that expensive. The 120 volt air compressor was only $112 and 50’ of hose and hand held inflator another $30. Compressor is quite. Fits neatly into the trunk. If the stainless starts to rust I can always spray paint the Cybertruck.?

This must be a new feature as it didn’t use to not allow you to put it in drive.

There were a few times where I was around 25 PSI while off road and decided to drive the 20 minutes to inflate them instead of using the portable.

I also lowered air pressure to 40PSI to drive on Pismo Beach, CA. There was no low tire inflation warning, but that was in May 2024. And I had small hand held tire inflator which overheated and didn't inflate to 10 PSI into all the tires. So I needed to drive to a "gas" station for air. This tire inflator looks heavy duty for sure. I prefer not to drive into a gas station for air.

I carry this in mine. It's a very beefy rechargeable pump. Way better than the small ones and faster than any 12v I've used. Takes an off road tire from flat to full in no time, and can easily do all 4 with plenty of battery left to do it all again. This thing is legit and most importantly for us CT owners, charges off 110 or USB-C. I was so impressed I picked up 2 more for christmas gifts.

I use the same product for my CT as well with very similar experiences. Its pretty quick inflating the tires up to about 47psi before is switches to some lower gears to inflate the last couple psi. FYI: I inflated 4 queen size mattresses when camping and it only used up about 4% of the battery.

False.

I driven thousands of miles with less than 40 psi in all the tires, mostly in the off-road modes, but also in normal street driving modes. Never noticed it limiting speed either. Did you just make that up?

You can drive without your seatbelt on too.

Be careful with that Craftsman. It says 5cfm, but that's at 0psi for inflating something like an air mattress. At the common standard of 90ps, it's probably a comically small number like 0.1 scfm and likely has a 5-10 minute duty cycle.

This is the one I use. It's a "real" compressor with no published duty cycle: https://www.harborfreight.com/3-gallon-110-psi-oil-free-light-duty-hot-dog-air-compressor-57572.html

Why are you guys buying compressors with air tanks for filling tires? It makes no sense!

My 120V compressor fits neatly in the little side compartment that you have your air hose in and fills tires a lot faster. An air tank is very sub-optimal because it forces the compressor to work at the pressure the air tank is at instead of the actual pressure in the tires as you fill them. You will fill much faster and with less heating of the compressor and less battery drain if you eliminate the pressure tank (the tire is basically a big pressure tank). It will also consume less space and weight less without the undesireable air tank.

This will fill all four of Cybertruck's All-Terrain tires simultaneously from 30 psi to 50 psi in four minutes total when used with an air hose designed to connect to all four tires simultaneously:

Tesla Cybertruck Tire Inflator….may be over kill but works great. 20240709_194329sm

Plus, it's very quiet and solid running. You can turn it to 50% speed to fill one tire and it's even quieter. I've used it many times and it appears to be a solid little compressor.

Why pressurize more air than you actually need? If you need a tank to run a higher powered pneumatic air tool, you can always plumb a tank inline with this little compressor.
