Never mind figured it out, looks like phone pairing is only for PowerWall.

Is your app thinking the PowerShare gateway is a powerwall too?

You were able to pair to you PowerShare? Or was it to you powerwall?
Nope. I was showing that it thinks I have a Powerwall and not a home PowerShare gateway.

I have not tried to link as it’s showing the wrong thing.

I made the same mistake. Was wondering why I couldn't find the switch on the gateway for pairing until I realized I read Powerwall as Powershare.

So does that pairing option go away when PowerShare is enabled, or is it like a permanent vestigial tail?

I noticed my Tesla app now shows a feature to "Pair Phone to Powershare Gateway". Has anyone done this and what does it provide?

My powershare is working fine without doing this pairing so was wondering if this gives us more data.

I’ve tried, but both QR codes inside my gateway are not the correct ones so I cannot get past the initial scan or manually type in credentials screen.

I was able to pair my phone to my powershare gateway by following those instructions in the app. And I guess that's what now gives me the "Go Off-Grid" control option, which I didn't have before I did that.

@Mal What did you use for your SS ID and password?

The two QR codes inside my gateway done is on the door and one is on the inside of the unit) or not code for the Wi-Fi and password.

Any help on where to find the credentials?

Everything I did was just following the instructions on the app, so I think I got on the gateway's WiFi by scanning that QR code - on the sticker to the left and below the breakers, as shown in @DarkEye's screenshot above. I'm using Android, so perhaps it works differently if you're on an iPhone?

When you scan for networks with your phone, do you see the TeslaGW_xxx network?

The WiFi sticker should have your ssid and password. My powershare had the stucker under the cover and its not visible by just opening the powershare outer panel. When my installers were installing the device i took a picture of the sticker so was able to pair my phone.
