Exactly. The primary driver is that we only do what we can afford to do, and so we need to chase things that make money as a priority, but not necessarily what we need or want. This is a result of a corrupted and outdated value system that perpetuates the idea of "worth = $" throughout all systems, from social to technical to biological systems. We need a unified and a more encompassing approach to resource management based on living in a finite world with real physical constraints and then how we prioritize necessity. Not greed, entitlement or short term pleasure.

That piaggio ape was not built to meet 2020 usa vehicle needs or styles. It was built post war Europe for cheap transportation and home farm utility needs so that Europe could get back to life and out of ruins. It served it's purpose very well, and with impeccable style to boot. Similarly to what the CT will do today.

I posted it in response to another post showing a similar mini truck from the 80s. My point was that if you are looking for something like that original image posted, then there are more stylish vintage options.

Your post served the intended purpose. My wife got a kick out of it. These things do not just belong to the past. In every Europe trip we see a ton of them in city centers. They are the best way to transport stuff in the alleys that are just a few inches wider than the truck. Everything has it’s use. CT would be as ridiculous over there as they would be on a 6 lane Texas highway.

By creating a system of excess where products and services form a part of the natural cycles of the world. Like the water cycle, carbon cycle etc. we the "human cycle" need to take our place as "good stewarts" to assist nature and life to flourish. Where we intimately manage those cycles for the desired effect and create our own cycles that mesh with them, without causing them to collapse. Sustainability is the ability to endue.

Nature does not know cradle to grave, everything is cycled and reused in the next step again and again. Even we are recycled and reused matter, that are a part of the cycle of life, and problems arise when we don't mesh with those natural cycles and we grind our gears by the will of our consciousness that can decide to act against them.

This is why we need a system of bookkeeping that specifically encompasses embodied externalities throughout all associated systems, so that our values align with natural world, not some fake artificial man made ponzi scheme called currency, or by a system that modulates currency to never allow excess, and restrict supply, so only the rich can afford it.

Sometimes we need to look outside and really see how much excess nature provides at absolutely no charge. Air, sun, rain, all fall on our head with no effort required by us, but as soon as we capture any of that we exploit it with the current systems that actively promote our own greed, and the self accumulation of currency for the benefit of artificial manmade entities.

With the right perspectives and ideas, we can manifest the right systems for sustainable conscious life in the natural world.

I believe this might enable our solutions but they can only provide them if they are in tune with natural cycles, upon which biological life is dependent. Every tool can be used and misused. Just like we are spiritual beings operating biological machines in a natural world that can also be used or misused. You can achieve the same with biological machines, but mechanical ones tend not to be lazy and self absorbed.
