In other words he wants that 100 x 100 mile square footage; financed by us and the power utilities; with profits flowing to Tesla at every phase.

I guess you misunderstood the question. It was what do I plug into what in order to participate in the VPP program. The thing with the arrow in the picture is a J1772 connector.

That is only assuming you will give your stored energy away for nothing and Tesla will not pay for access to your energy. There is no reason to give Tesla access if they will not pay. I think Musk understands this. The last thing he would want is to lose this source of energy and open the door for competition.

No, not assuming that at all.

1. You finance the panels, the batteries, and switching.
2. You provide the real estate and use your existing utility hook up.
3. Tesla brokers the power, you get paid, Tesla gets a brokerage fee.

It's essentially like Uber for power, only Tesla is selling you the equipment *at a profit* instead of you using your own. Tesla is perfectly happy sharing the profits you earn. Since you financed it, it's only fair right?

The great thing about using microwaves to transmit the power is you can also use it to thaw out ground based infrastructure.

I don't think anyone is currently building this, I suspect the cost of boosting that much infrastructure into orbit was prohibitively expensive. Perhaps once Starship is online it'll make sense.
