6.5' is bed definitely preferred to a 5.5' bed for me also. But what if the tailgate has an ability to extend out after it's opened...like a drawer or table with leafs?
Check out the Canoo truck/van. Definitely different but there is a panel under the bed that pulls out like a drawer and then up a touch to match the bed height. The tailgate is split down the middle and when opened like barn doors, the tailgate becomes bed sides which makes the normally 6' bed into an 8' bed.

Would be nice if the windshield wiper would stow under a frunk cowl, which does not seem to exist. I could imagine that would be where you would stash the laser beam wiper anyway, perhaps?

The fender flares are fine, but I really did not like the original rims from the rEVeal EVent, so the more normal boring truck rims are more to my liking. And as for tires, I'm curious to find out more about LRR street tires in this size and how that impacts efficiency versus more traditional knobby truck all terrain which it is more likely to ship with. Hypermiling a CyberTruck anyone?

I wonder about the lack of door handles, am not a fan of an electronic only open mechanic. I wonder if a "kick to release" door latch mechanic, which when locked the kick does not release could work. Then you could just physically push the door in a half centimeter or so for the release, which would mean having broken an iced over door at the seams?

Am looking forward to tri motor to quad motor upgrade. And now that they will do independent four wheel motors, I presume, perhaps they can take a swing at making tank mode "better" than the other demo by Rivian. Since the problem is the difficulty with intentional wheel spin and the wide traction discrepancies at each corner. Perhaps tieing in Vision from FSD (Futures Self Driving), as well as a lot of body roll sensing, would yield an ability for a highly computer controlled tank turn where it could react fast enough to the slip results to advance or retard the torque to each corner in order to get the desired result of a stationary turn.... Heck or an in motion turn such as drift, could the CyberTruck be the ultimate AI Drift vehicle one day? It's just a software update away, so I'll still hold out hopes that both Rivian and Tesla are able to solve tank turns. Would be great if the first to crack the problem would share/license the solution to the other and future 4x4x4x? platforms...

I wonder if I should go back to putting in some effort on my https://twitter.com/search?q=#S3XYFR Hashtag topic? Maybe need to kick up the production efforts and turn it into animations and a video, it's been a while.

concrete dividers and the van gives size perspective.

In my mind this perspective unfortunately proves that this prototype is much smaller than the one introduced in 2019. The Ford transit van is smaller than the crew cab f150 in both length and width (even in consideration of the warp in perspective)

Factor in the dividers. The distance in the background dividers are about 18% smaller due to perspective. Normalizing will give us a more true relationship.

It appears to me that the original prototype has a dip in the flat space where it meets the windshield, the flat space being between the forwardmost edge of the dash stretching to the windshield. This new version seems to have a trough, no longer a flat space, that also has a dip where it meets the windshield. I believe this is to facilitate cleaning the inside of the windshield giving some room for either a tool or a hand. So it looks like Tesla thought about the tiny space and enlarged it.

As for the bed overhang issue, I don't think that would interfere with a motorcycle tire, the overhang being much higher than the bed. In some guesstimates from early photos I estimated the roof over the bed at the front was around 27 inches. That will decrease a bit with the overhang, but I think will have plenty of room for a 21 inch front tire. For a motocross or enduro bike, the front fender might go over the overhang (don't ride those bikes anymore, so nothing to measure).

The early spec for the overall length of the truck was 231.7 so with a 78 inch bed length, the truck is 2.79 times the length of the bed. We obviously don't have any dimensions yet, but if the bed is approximately 1/3 the length of the truck, the bed length won't have changed much. But trying to assess all this from different angles may not give satisfying results. Hopefully Elon will give us some DATA to chew on at the next earnings call. For me, I'm not going to worry about it or make any rash decisions until I actually know something. But I was thrilled to finally get a peek of the truck, which could easily still be a prototype mule trying out a few things.

Agreed the big wiper is just that. It seems that they could park it in the blacked out area surrounding the windshield (looks like it interferes with view currently). Another option might be to put it on the passenger side if the motion goes across, but I doubt it does, looks more like an arc to me.

SO... speculate away, one of the things I enjoy about this site. I still have very high hopes.

Another thought, maybe someone else brought this up... This single wiper isn't going to cover enough of the windshield. I think there would need to be two of them, if they go with this design. Actually it might look a LOT better with two BAW's than it does with one.

The van is 237 inches in length according to the Ford website.

I tried to get the bumpers lined up in the screenshot.

And that wiper blade doesn't scare me. Part of the year I have this strapped to my hood now.
