I agree to some extent. However, there are some trips I make that FSD would be extremely nice for. Also, I am not getting any younger and I hope this would be my last vehicle and if it is as durable as we hope it to be and FSD might really be useful as the eyes and reactions diminish over the next couple of decades.
That's exactly my plan!

That windshield wiper cannot stay!! No way is that anywhere near attractive ? or useful (in my opinion)! Basically I'm still holding my breath thinking the Tesla engineers are not gonna let the Rivian, lightening, Hummer or any other electric pickup outshine the CyberTruck! I just pray it doesn’t become an Edsel!!??

Gotta say, this view is amazing. Looks like a military hardened vehicle.

I notice thoguh that the side windows are inset pretty far from the external body of the truck. Like by maybe 2 inches? I like the look but I wonder about how much empty space there will be inside the doors.

It also seems like the headlights are further down than in the original prototype. is it possible that they implemented the frunk like the Lightning so that the whole front end above the lights gets raised and you can front load the frunk instead of lifting over that front "grill" area?

Also, as wide as the rear bed walls are, could it be that there is a drawer effect in the bed that allows it to extend back further making for up to an 8 ft bed with the tail gate closed? Of course the tonneau would not extend that far back (or WOULD it?).

I also don't really see the top light bar. But I really hope that is still going to be in the prod version.

Looking at the front glass, I see the location of the FSD cameras in the center. And there is still plenty of room above that for the LED light bar though that part of the glass is all tinted it looks like.

There also seems to be a ton of room available under the dash (between the frunk and the control surfaces. Does the frunk extend clear back into that area? I imagine there will need to be room for the octovalve, control computers, etc but that still all looks like a ton of real estate. It's possible though that the front casting takes up a bunch of that space trying to keep the motors higher up off the ground I suppose.

Looking at the back, I like the bumper "step" area in the middle. I imagine this is also where the license plate goes?

Is that a tow hitch hanging down from the bumper?

Actually it looks like an eye hook with 1 extra link of a chain attached. Maybe for easy tieing down on a trailer for transport?

Speaking of lights, it seems like the brake lights are way down at the bumper now? I thought they were higher up than that. But I also don't see the button controls for the tonneau so maybe the real brake lights were just not installed on this prototype.

And yes, there does seem to be a running board kind of contraption at the bottom between the wheels. I kind of like the solid black line around the whole bottom of the body. Not sure what that is made of though and if will stand up to the rocks and boulders that the off-roaders will be hitting it with.

And looking at the front bumper it does seem that there are 2 tow points on the front.
Also noticing that the passenger at least is masked up.

Curious that the running board like black material under the doors doesn't seem to stick out as far as the doors though.

If this cybertruck image is:

Withbed.webp
I don't think the bed ends that close to the vault cover based on the overhang visible in a lot of the images. I personally think it looks like the bed ends closer to the end of the rear passenger window (C Pillar area) and not the top vault closing.

Because we're running wild with speculation...

There are a series of possible widths. The widest ever mentioned was 84 inches and the narrowest was 80.

I took the most "even" overhead shot of the cyber truck and scaled it so that 1 pixel would be equivalent to 1 inch.

overhead-1.webp

If this cybertruck image is:

Withbed.webp

80 pixels wide makes it 211 pixels long.
81 pixels wide makes it 213 pixels long
82 pixels wide makes it 216 pixels long
83 pixels wide makes it 219 pixels long
84 pixels wide makes it 221 pixels long

The bed is 60 pixels x 66 pixels when the width is 83 pixels wide

So, from what I can guess this is definitely a 5 1/2 foot bed, and the CT will be no more than 220 inches long.

Change my mind.

Let me take it one step further... What if the bed can be pulled out like a dresser drawer allowing it to also be 1-2 feet longer? Did someone mention the Canoo truck earlier?

Sorry to be off your topic good observations you made there, but looking at these pictures it occurred to me the that the dash would make a great solar collector area...

Even better we have lots of sun here in Australia and we use sunshade devices to keep the sun out of the cars when parked. What if the dash collector hinge from near the front of the windscreen with gas rams to raise the back so it could act as a sunshade when the truck is parked.

The truck will stay cooler, receive more solar charge when parked and we would not have to try to source a large sunshade for the truck.

I did it.. I somehow read all 22 pages of this forum.. almost passed out but I did it...

If different truck makers can offer different bed sizes, then why can't Tesla?

And they know what they're doing anyway - they know there are drones circling the skies, and they already knew the previous video of the CT doing a tank turn was 'leaked'. They're probably on this forum right now reading our comments (Hey Elon - it's me baby)...

A couple quick thoughts.
  • Front end is definitely a bit shorter. That wasn’t just an optical illusion.
  • Big ass wiper on the driver side.
  • Door handle gone
  • Curved front window looks hot.
  • Is it just me or is the top of the cabin smaller?
  • Added: Charge port door flap looks like it's moved into the fender flare

Watch as the thread quickly jumps to page 23.
But good job catching up on the most revelatory video we’ve seen in quite a while.

Its a bit of an optical illusion because of the downward slant. Take a piece of paper look at it spread in front of you, then tilt one edge away from you. The paper appears to shorten in length. It's called "foreshortening" There's probably 10 inches of overhang. I really don't see that bed being 6 feet unless the bed goes deep below the top glass. The pixel trick is pretty accurate, and a 6 foot bed pushes the bulkhead to about 2 inches from the seam for the rear door. That's way under the glass roof.

And remember ,there has to be room for the tonneau to scroll through the rear wall.

And, for those thinking the headlights are different, those are the fog lights that are illuminated not the headlight blade. I had some fun with the lights and added the headlight blade and top light blade...

Fixed!

Geez... After looking at it from this angle, it looks... Wow. Simply bad-ass.

You can see here, they can almost fit a body bag in the area underneath the lip.
