The gigapress is being used to cast parts from aluminum that would more traditionally be made by stamping and welding multiple pieces of steel together. The result of building the part out of steel would be no stronger or weaker than casting it out of aluminum because both methods are engineered to satisfy the engineering requirements at hand. The cast aluminum solution is being adopted because it will reduce the part count, reduce the number of manufacturing steps, reduce cost and reduce weight. It's not being used to make it stronger than it needs to be or to "take a significant load off the original exoskeleton design". It's not clear why you think that or how it makes any sense.

If this sounds derogatory it's probably because I don't know how to tell you that your claims have no basis in reality without saying they have no basis in reality and don't make any rational sense.
I want some of what you're smoking
The double-standard you display is mind-bogglingly obvious.
I'll smile and overlook your childish personal attacks
It's not clear why you think that or how it makes any sense.
I have no idea what you are babbling
That's a silly statement.
Maybe you refrain from speculating about things you know so little about.

Actually these are not my words. I plagiarized. These are your responses to other members of the Cybertruck Owners Club. I think you have an anger management problem. I often found that to be an issue with people I employed in my companies that used nasty quips to hide their lack of knowledge.??

It doesn't sound like your employees found you a pleasant person to work for. It's difficult working for someone who never admits when they are wrong and instead shifts the focus to the way others deal with it.

I doubt that they built a 8M sf facility and didn't start to build it out. They noted in the call that they didn't want to divert resources to new vehicles like chips. Every rich person knows that the longer you wait to build the more expensive it gets. They are building the CT production line and continuing to move forward. Its not like Q1 next year they will go oh lets build it this year then start on the line. They have been putting the model y line together for a year in Austin and started on it once the roof was on that section of the building. No way is Tesla just leaving millions of sf of that factory unused. If that were the case why would they kick off that new cathode building and not just put it in the larger structure.
They are building the CT production line.

You say they are building the CT production line. I say they are not and instead are focusing on ramping up the Model Y production. I have no facts, just my speculation. So far, as of today, there are no Model Ys leaving that factory and going straight into customers hands. I am guessing they want to do that first. It should start happening soon. Then they can work on increasing production volume for the Model Y.

Plus you don't finish out your production line for the Cybertruck until after you have finished engineering the vehicle. I think they have some more tweaking to go...especially to figure out how to build it in a more affordable manner. I am sure Tesla could build it next month....but it might cost $100,000. Let's hope they make progress. As Elon said "HOPEFULLY we can start production in 2023". I hope it doesn't get delayed again and that production (not beta versions) can start in 2023.

They said specifically that they are working on tooling for the Cybertruck on the conference call.

Presumably whatever tooling they create would be eventually part of the production line.

Obviously. The Y is simply further along in both design and production, so direct more energy to get in production and making money. That does not mean they stop working on the CyberTruck to get economics of design.

Did Musk say he hoped that building them would start in 2023? If so, they won't be rolling out to those on the list (non-employees) until 2024, and for locations beyond north-west states, deliveries might start in 2025.

By then I'll be long gone. Oh well, nice idea while it lasted.

You heard it here folks. No way the CT will be in full production until 2024-25. I think those hot to trot early reservation holders (say up to 130,000) should chancel those reservations and take that $100 bucks and put it toward ordering a Rivian or Lightning.

You can always come back to Tesla later in the decade once you tire of the lack of a usable charging infrastructure.

You're welcome :)

Musk is pretty much damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t at this point.

If he says “We will start production in 2023” and they don’t, then he’s a liar regardless of whether WW III breaks out; the country is struck with an epidemic; or there is a massive supply chain crises.

So instead he says “We hope to start production in 2023, it’s most likely”… and people say “Tesla delays Cybertruck until 2057”.

Literally nothing he can say which won’t be over-analyzed. They are shooting for 2023. If events get in the way, then they won’t hit it.

I know this sucks for you, hopefully it ends up coming on time.

I went ogre there once. It was pretty ugly which suited my personality, but I don’t think they let you live there unless you watch at least 4 hours of Fox News per day.
From watching my spouse's mother, that checks out @-@
